So they’ll just cook the polls to show their buddies seats are not safe. Are any conservatives thinking anymore these days? At all?

Getting the GOP party caucus PACs in both the House and the Senate out of interfering/putting money in the primaries as long been a position of many of us. The GOP Congressional PACs should hold their campaign support for the general election after the party candidate is chosen, and not before.

What individuals do on their own is seperate from that.

It took five lost votes before McCarthy would pledge (via his proxy PAC) not to try to put his thumb on the scale to block populist candidates in GOP primaries?

Strikes me as telling.

Repubs are adept at fighting each other, but no so good at fighting dims.

Interesting insight as to what the future holds. When the repubs were the minority, they complained that there was no way they could change things. Dims would not allow it and they had the majority.

Now the repubs have the majority, but the dims are still keeping them from governing.

Which proves what most of us have always believed...either the repubs are very poor political strategists or they are just another group in the “good old boys” club.

I believe it is half and half.

Too bad Jesse Helms is not around to show them that you don’t need to be in the majority to be able to influence the process.

The only problem with this is that Kevin McCarthy lies and breaks promises when it’s in his interest.

How? McCarthy has 200 votes locked up. No one else can get past 30. Wishful thinking is not beneficial. I would prefer some one else for Speaker, but I do not like to keep hitting my head on a brick wall.

He needs to 218 if the 20 Republicans in question refuse to vote him, he won't be speaker unless the RINOs want to make Jefferies speaker, which would be career suicide.

As long as those 20 don't budge, Republicans will have to pick someone else. That is reality, not wishful thinking.

Open-seat primaries?

This would not have helped Joe Kent in Washington State, who successfully challenged a RINO incumbent in the primary in spite of big bucks being given to the RINO incumbent by the GOPe.

Joe Kent was effectively sabotaged by McCarthy and his ilk, including by a lack of GOP funds in the general election.

And the Club for Growth? Aren’t they open borders GOPe?

"Why the hell is this even an issue?"

Republicans are constantly trying to defeat conservatives in the primaries. The GOP always perpetuates the swamp.

Unless, maybe I read into the goal of this particular item wrong then I apologize, but it has been an issue among the never-mccarthy crowd for the last week how the GOP Establishment is always working to sabotage conservatism.

The fact remains that if we want to end the swamp, we must violently kneecap the RNC. Every election since the Tea Party proves this. The GOP hates conservatism.

Apparently 20 GOP conservative reps are currently engaged in critical thinking.

Unless nearly everyone on Free Republic is lying.

That keeps McCarthy an a very tight leash

My opinion is that he should be the Speaker. But he needs to be on a short leash. If he fears the Conservatives, then he will become more Conservative if he wants to survive. As simple as that.

Dems are not blocking the GOP from governing in the House

The GOP is preventing the GOP from governing

The GOP reps need to either find an alternative Speaker who can get all the requisite GOP votes, or back McCarthy, or back the AOC plan, or support Hakeem Jefferies, or keep the House inoperative until Jan. 2025

Is the CLF the PAC that took money from the crypto kid?

These people, as we’re all seeing, do NOT give a sh*t about any of us.

Have to wonder how many of the 200 Republicans that voted for
McCarthy have ever spoken to any of their constituents about who they want for SOH.

At the end of the day, McCarthy is about the Swamp as much as any in DC.

And I just saw his speech regarding Pres Trump and the events of Jan6th. Bakersfield needs to do better.

Nothing about borders
Nothing about election integrity.
Nothing about keeping the DOJ from using the FBI to harrass conservative parents of schoolchildren.
