COVINGTON, Ky., Jan 4 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell made a rare joint appearance on Wednesday at a bridge in Kentucky in a display of bipartisanship that offers a guide to how the White House hopes to govern in months to come....

...Both veteran politicians have political reasons for appearing together. McConnell wants credit from voters in his home state of Kentucky for the spending project, while Biden wants to highlight the on-the-ground impacts of lawmakers working together.

"The country needs to see examples like this," McConnell says of the bipartisanship that led to the infrastructure deal, which he called "literally a legislative miracle."...

...Vice President Kamala Harris and other top administration officials are fanning out across the country for similar events in coming days....

the picture being painted is, when Dems are in charge, it's tough bunnies for the Reps, but when Reps are in charge, it's at the pleasure of the Dems

What bothers me the most is that McConnell acts as if he
were living some fifty years ago. Even then the Left was
way out of bounds. They have never in my lifetime fought
for the nation 1/10th as much as they did to have full
unquestioned control.

Mitch is helping the Left consolidate one party rule at
the federal level.

I haven’t followed him for decades, but what he has come
to support at this time is unquestionably dangerous.

If he succeeds at helping the Left get one party rule,
the place will wind up like NAZI Germany.

He never has displayed a fundamental understanding of
even one of the main issues with 01/06.

He thinks he’s a real patriot. He’s mistaken. Patriots
are being destroyed by governmental abuse, and Mitch
is oblivious.

It goes way beyond that on issue after issue too.

> He thinks he’s a real patriot.

All McConnell is doing is dropping the charade since the GOP leadership has run out of ways to pretend to be an opposition party.

The Federal Government has been a fully owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party since FDR, with a few minor detours (Regan and Trump) along the way.

"The country needs to see examples like this,"

Ya, maybe it will wake them the hell up.

You and I might agree to that, dropping the charade.

I’m not convinced he does.

He sees himself as a statesman. I don’t.

The GOPe seems to be supportive of the Left’s overall
goals, but is Mitch present, mentally quick enough to
grasp that?

He may be. I wouldn’t push the issue.

He’s not all there. IMO, he, Pelosi, and Biden each have
mental clarity issues.

Not trying to defend them. They are each a clear and
present danger.

Biden is clearly never fully awake.

Mitch has no care for anything but Mitch. His wife is part of the problem since she is in government\lobbying too. Its never ever been about patriotism or voters for him. Its been about money and power.

Yes and his wife has family with contacts pretty high up in the CCP.

I used to think she was a positive sharp person. I now see her as problematic.
