The trap has been laid... Retreat now, while you still have your lives... Because the next step is the Ukrainian obliteration of those who take this territory, with needless and heavy loss of Russian lives.

How can the Russian’s be this far along in the conflict without figuring out Ukraine’s strategy??? Allow Russia to invade and take territory... Then kill them off where they stand. It’s been working brilliantly and the poor Russian’s still haven’t figured it out.

The AFU has been controlling these tunnels for a long time. Do you really believe that they have not been preparing demolition charges to collapse the entrances and exits to this whole complex in case they have to evacuate? If the Russians ever enter these places, “The Walls will Come Tumbling Down”.

What you’ve said is straight out of the Russians propaganda playbook. The real facts would show massive atrocities done by BOTH sides. While I don’t agree with Russians abrupt invasion (no equivalent of Colin Powel before the UN, for example). It is important to at least go through the motions to show the world your case. Even the Soviets knew that. However, I don’t agree with the Ukrainians on this issue, either. I don’t believe anything without alot more weighed by substantial third party’s proof.

Why does everything start at Maidan and 2014, the Minks protocols, etc.? Russia has been interfering with the Ukraine long before then. I remember them poisoning the President in 2004. That would have been a causa belli if they did that to say, George Bush. Or us to Putin. Everyone seems to forget the pre-2014 events that laid a lot of the groundwork FOR 2014.

I do agree that the West pushed the coup in 2014. I do agree that Eastern regions of Ukraine should be allowed to decide their own fate.

The best answer is to do what Elon Musk suggested. All Russian troops leave, as well as Ukraine and Donbass militias. Have a UN supervised referendum on whether Donbassians and Crimeans stay in Ukraine/Russia, join Russia/Ukraine or go independent.

However, this solution would “serve” neither side.

So people will die.

“What you’ve said is straight out of the Russians propaganda playbook”

Way to try and shutdown discussion that doesn’t support your convictions, whatever they are based on.

We are never going to agree.

But as a military analyst of 20 years with a strong track record of recognizing significant data and trends ( including historical) even from open and fragmentary sources, to understand and predict actions by conflicting parties, I will stick with my instincts about what is happening, and why.

How does that shutdown debate? I disagree with the idea that Russia is blameless in the atrocity department and the Ukrainians are the only ones doing them.

I contend they both are, and anyone who actually was a military analyst ( I was one also, check my profile—DIA, 4 years, Pentagon 3, USAF Intelligence Command, 7 years) would note that such one sided claims are always propaganda.

If you read further than your initial outrage allowed, you’d note I said both sides are guilty of various atrocities.

See, the biggest problem I found on those threads on this war is so many posters believe that any debate against their position is betrayal or an insult. I’m not doing that. Read the whole thing.

Without compromise, this war, both in Europe and here on Free Republic will just go on and on.

So I’ll ask you, given your analyst abilities, how does it all end? What’s your hope?

Zelensky Must set up a War Crime atrocity to pull in Americans and Brits. Without something like this he is a walking dead man. He needs something really horrible. What would you concoct?
1. Poison Gas Attack! Worked in Assad’s Syria. A bit of WW I stuff like Mustard would do the job. Target a hospital—better yet, a Children’s Hospital.
2. Build a “Dirty Bomb” Drop it on a Russian Town with a drone then say Putin bombed his own people in a false flag attack. Or use it on Poland saying it was to look like Ukraine attacked.
3. Best, Get Russian speaking Ukraine’s, put them in Russian Uniforms, Attack a Polish border town—Kill lots of women and children. Then send in Ukrainians to retake the town! Maybe attack a radio station?

“If the Russians ever enter these places, “The Walls will Come Tumbling Down”.

They aren’t going to enter. That would be foolish.

They will methodically seal all the exists. Then fill the tunnels with gasoline...or some other vaporized accelerants.

Well, ground intel suggests the Ukes are digging up bodies in Kharkov, and mutilating them, to set up the discovery of “ Russian war crimes”. Journalists have been or will be invited to the discovery.

So if this happens, it happens. And if not, then? Bad intel?

I put nothing past the Zelensky regime. Have become convinced the
man himself is an unstable nutjob in way over his head
