How does inclusion look? Evidently, it sometimes looks exclusive. Consider the case of UK music awards show The Brit Awards.
Last November, the show made a very progressive announcement — in light of enlightenment, it would no longer give separate trophies for male and female “Best” categories.

_______
"For the 2022 ceremony, a new award, Artist of the Year, will replace the British Male Solo Artist and British Female Solo Artist categories. An international artist of the year award will replace the previously gendered international solo artist awards."
_____
Guess how that worked out? Just guess!
Some participants should have been more careful on what they were asking for. I’ll bet the majority of women musicians didn’t care, but there were two or three purple haired wildwomym who put their collective foot down. Happy now?
Dennis Miller had a line for this, paraphrasing: “They’re all ‘actors’ in Hollywood. The women resent being called actresses because it’s somehow demeaning or stigmatizing or whatever. Until awards season. Then there’s a division in the work force. And then they demand it.”
And the men are all smiling with glee as they think to themselves, “I just love it when a plan comes together”!
They used to have books and magazines about the greats of the blues (all males) and the rock guitar gods (male) and rock groups (male). Then they forced spaces in history to explain how women were important, too, all along. Although passed over. Sounded phony.
Although there were women in all categories who went unheralded for a long time.
When Grace Slick and Janis Joplin were on long tours they had no male and female dressing rooms or security to guard them against various types of overheated males. Get a handy boyfriend was one strategy (Slick married Paul Kantner). Pioneers even in the days of Chrissie Hynde,Annie Lenox and Debbie Harry had it much more difficult than the male stars.
War on Women.
Men. Being better women then women for the last decade.
You are correct that there was undiscovered rhythm & blues talent, along with that in other genres of music, in a lot of women that went ignored for too long. It was good to see them break out.
However, so many women insisted on displacing men rather than making a place for themselves all on their own. Now, they are being paid back by the fake women (men) taking over the spots women pushed the men out of decades ago.
Karma is still a bitch, although she sometimes goes by different names.
I’d kind of think there wouldn’t be much difference in art/intellectual pursuits as in athletics.
Interesting because in equestrian, there is no separation of sexes.
Fantastic.
Grace had Dolph Lundgren by her side for a bit. Debbie Harry was damned near raped at knife point in front of her boyfriend. Wendy O’Williams blew her head off with a shotgun. Girls didn’t have it easy back in the day.
Wow. That was a hard life. We only saw the glamorous part and the camera flashes going off as they entered some club.
Reminds me of that famous photo of Marilyn Monroe with her hand up to her face, crying. The sad part of fame and pressure.
Yes but to be frank the athlete is the horse.
BWAAAHAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Play stupid games...win stupid prizes.
Soon, there will no no women’s or girls’ sports either. Women won’t be winning any races or competitions or games or sports awards, and they’ll have to compete for sports scholarships with trannies and even straight men.
To an extent. Ridden horse over jumps and cross country?
In those sports the focus is on the rider who gets the credit. (Unlike racing where the credit is given the horse, and meant to measure the worth of the horse.) There is more finesse involved in horse riding than brute strength, but it does require good strength and endurance. As it is, the finesse I think is why the sexes are mixed. Fine control of the horse Rules all.
No Emmylou Harris?
Riding horses is one of the few sports where women can compete equally with men. In fact, women frequently have an advantage because they are more responsive to the horse while men seem more inclined to enforce their will.
My daughter is a trainer/rider in this sport. A good friend (male) won in a couple of Olympics.
Now they can just require that the lone award in each category be awarded to a woman every other year, to avoid discriminating against woman.
Did Cousin It win?
