At the least McCarthy could have waited until Monday or Tuesday so the Biden docs could simmer a while

The deep state said "Get the biden docs off the front page." and McCarthy clicked his heels and saluted.

There are many worms in this rotten apple. Sometimes a worm turns. Justice is coming.

Without 60 votes in the Senate and the White House, getting much done will be difficult. Picking a few issues to work on with about 40 key members doing the heavy lifting and having the 160 others support where appropriate and otherwise run interference seems ok to me.

If this is what the second violin section will be doing, things could be worse.

That said, I think those who question the timing may have a point.

... just another bit of kabuki that will die in the Senate. The only bills created by the House that will get thru the Senate are spending, spending, spending. Anything else is rancid meat for the masses.

Why can’t they? The federal government does all kinds of things it is not supposed to do per the constitution.

Not guilty verdicts cannot be appealed but a guilty impeachment should be allowed to be appealed?

Sorry too early for me... found not guilty in senate so expungement seems an honest task, since the prosecution was tainted.

Expungement sweeps it all under the rug. The impeachments are an historic reminder of despicable democrat malfeasance. I say let them linger for eternity.

**************

It isn’t quite the same as impeachment, but President Jackson was censured by an Anti Jacksonian Senate for not releasing documents related to his battle with Biddle and the central bank.

When the Democrats regained control of that institution they expunged the censure.

Well they can “expunge” it in the same way the NCAA “expunges” victories. They can take it out of the “official record” but it will still be in the history books. Kind of like Reggie Bush’s Heisman, officially he’s no longer a winner, but he still has the trophy.

What....??? The same guys who stood around with their fingers up their a#@es, WHILE Liberals ran that game on Trump??

Maybe their ultimate goal is to use this as a ‘pilot’ project. If it works, then they will get their OWN actual crimes ‘expunged’!!

I'll take the contrary position and ask how an impeachment can be expunged after the trial has already happened?

Imagine that you find yourself accused of using the Evil Eye curse on your crazy neighbor's cat, and a coalition of municipal employees, who already hate you, decide to form a tribunal star chamber and put you on "trail". A dog-catcher, a crosswalk guard, and a school cafeteria cook attempt to convict you of practicing malicious magic, but they can't find an expert on evil mischief who can properly describe your crime and they can't even find the cat. They quietly dissolve the trium and abandon the proceeding, but they triumphantly march to the courthouse to permanently file in government record that you were "tried" for something that is both nonsensical and impossible.

The record of this ridiculous event follows you everywhere you go in your life. It is continually reemerging, without context, for every occasional background check, requiring that you continually supply the missing context and re-explain the whole ordeal. The objective recounting of the event is, itself, so absurd that people reflexively doubt YOUR own version of the event and you find that this episode has permanently tainted your reputation.

Would you not want the record corrected to report that you were NOT, in fact, properly brought to trail and that, instead, you were the victim of a criminal misuse and abuse of power?

Expungement + Memory Hole = POOF!

You definitely need the Memory Hole to make this work. Unfortunately, the FBI and CIA own all the Memory Holes, so that option is off the table.

Lacking a good Memory Hole, you could use the little “Memory Eraser” that Tommy Lee Jones put to good use. But how to deploy it to 81 million people?

I think you have valid points. Plus, I don’t believe the Dem’s ever do anything to be noble. So, I’m suspicious.
