Don’t point a gun at someone unless you are preparing to shoot him. Don’t shoot someone unless you are trying to kill him. Always fire at the center of mass and keep firing until they drop.

Isn’t a cop supposed to shoot only if his or innocent people’s lives are threatened?
I was taught a far simpler lesson,”Don’t point a gun at someone unless you are prepared to KILL them.
As for how many times to fire, fire until the threat is terminated.
My rifle coach was Green Beret and kinda serious about some things.

Not in some jurisdictions. That may get you prosecuted.
You don’t shoot to kill or to wound, you shoot to stop the person from doing whatever they were doing that they shouldn’t have been doing.
