People can easily bleed out from leg shots.

Then it will be, why did they shoot him in the leg? He was an aspiring football or basketball player, they robhed him of his future career. We sue.

In Wilmington DE, the “aspiring rappers” shoot each other in the legs often because they don’t get charged with attempted murder.

I had a brief exchange with a law enforcement type who crowed about how good his armored vest protects him. I told him that an armored vest is immediate cause to shift point of aim to the femoral artery. He just about pooped his pants. Seriously, a vest is a great tool, but it doesn't cover femoral or carotid shots.

Every personal injury lawyer's dream is to push a wheelchair bound plaintiff in front of a jury. That's a guaranteed $20 million payday no matter the circumstances. No liability insurance is available to any city that trains its officers for leg shoots.

In some countries, the police are trained to go out of their way to avoid shooting perps, but they don't have a legal lotto system to worry about, nor a flood of violent criminals roaming free.

Like choo-choo trains, pew-pew pistols are an 1800s technology. Man catch traps, robo-cops and K9s, and drones with flying nets could be deployed to reduce the need to shoot perps, however there is not much interest from the general public. In America, there are just too many career criminals out there that need killing.
