On one hand they say methane is the most potent causes of global warming, 10x that of carbon dioxide and that global warming will at some point release tons of it now trapped under ice, etc. This would lead to catastrophic warming and cook us to death.

I don’t know if the theory has merit, but it does worry me.

No matter what you think about that scenario, you’d think collecting and burning as much of it as we can down here is a good idea.

How do they propose to deal with it if we don’t burn it?

“Yes, let’s switch entirely over to electricity - the rolling blackouts we experience in California when it’s over 100 degrees are absolutely wonderful and “climate neutral.”

Wind and solar powered electricity is wonderful. It was 58 deg for 3 days at the hospital I work in whe it was in the high teens here in south texas a few weeks ago. I’ve been out sick a week.

Yet tge freeze us in air conditioning. The whole city over summer 70 degrees. You need a jacket

They’re so stupid

Your house becomes uninhabitable when the electricity goes off. No heat no ac but the gas works so you can cook and have some heat.

Not,to mention electric companies arealready upping their prices - likely in anticipation of states forcing people onto more and more electric use.

Gas IS better. My HVAC includes a 95% efficient gas burner. Water is heated with gas. A gas outlet on the patio supplies a means to cook food and alternative drive a tri-fuel electric generator. The house in San Diego had a gas clothes dryer, gas water heater, gas forced-air heater, gas stove top, gas oven.

There is still an electric element in the Idaho house. The stove top, oven and clothes dryer are electric. Electricity drives the blower in the HVAC and compressor for the air conditioner.

I'm in no hurry to ditch natural gas. In a pinch, there are lots of propane suppliers to the rural housing areas. The tri-fuel generator and grill can be refitted.

“Tough to believe the Nazis really want to outlaw gas ovens.”

Not when you know the true goal behind it all. They want to remove everything that is aiding the survival of the species.

And the longer the gas-is-better myth persists, the harder it will be to fully electrify new homes from the start.

"Better" is defined by one's point of view, and by the goals one wishes to achieve. Daniel declares electric better, but gives no justification - we are supposed to embrace his subjective opinion as if it were superior to our own.

Never use “Nazis” and “ovens” in the same sentence.

They put it in writing for all to see, and then label you a conspiracy nut when you point it out.

Of course gas furnaces and gas hot water heaters were next on the list.

They're already on the list in Kalifornia and New York, with both states banning any use of natural gas in new construction.
