Here’s why you may not want to employ that strategy for yourself: You are not wealthy.

LOL. Corrupt media admits Trump didn’t bother to claim Soc Sec. income. Just like his Presidential salary.

Trump fought like hell to keep his tax returns secret, but in the end after all the leftist butt-hurt, his tax returns are completely legal.

You have to admire Trump the strategist - a classic military pinning maneuver. Keep the enemy energy and forces tied down for years over some meaningless piece of turf and win the moral high ground in the end.

"Social Security" is like a doggies choke chain collar

they force you to pay into it as a wage slave and then keep jerking the chain threatening to stop paying out

IOW you “need” the money to live.

There are those that don’t “need” the money, but “want” the money b/c politicians have promised for over 80 years ... that you paid into the system, and it is only fair that you take what was promised.

Trump never took Social Security payments although he paid into the system ... and never bragged to the public about it that I am aware.

He also did not accept his salary while President. Yet he was vilified by the left.

Yepp. And true freedom here is not to need the money and don’t take it even if you are entitled to it. Hence, no chain jerking.

If true, expect other billionaires to start boasting that they don't collect SS either.

It is the principle of the fact that your Tax Returs are your business, only. The fact that the Communists want to use that against anybody should be enough to start a serious fight.

Rumor is that ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN/MSNBC/Time/Newsweak/New York Slimes/Washington Compost are soon going to release their blockbuster story—reliable anonymous senior government and intelligence sources have determined President Trump is really a reptilian alien and therefore could not qualify for Social Security benefits.

;-)

If I had 500 million dollars a year in free cash flow, I might forgo claiming also.

You mean if you had $100,000,000 you would still need SS?

How about $50,000,000?

$25,000,000? .....

Trump does collect pensions from his acting work over the decades, he began participating in the SAG pension plan in 1992

“Trump Earned $1.7M From Hollywood Work In 2019
In addition to income from ‘The Apprentice,’ last year Trump received pensions from SAG and AFTRA, and royalties for playing ‘Waldo’s Dad’ in the 1994 comedy ‘The Little Rascals.’”

It’s hard to find anything negative in this choice by him.

I will offer up an item counter to popular experts as regards early SS.

If you start collecting before your full retirement age, the amount you collect is lower. You get a lesser amount per month but it starts earlier. Then those at Full Retirement Age collecting the larger amount do catch up. And those delaying to age 70 collect even more, but later.

Nearly all computations about this focus on “break even”. The year at which the folks who waited catch up in total collections to those to started early.

It’s not a very long time but it’s not a very short time.

Here’s the item no one has told you. Look at years AFTER breakeven. All the analyses you see will stop the computation at year of breakeven. Look past that. You will see that it takes a very long time for the difference in totals collected to amount to any significant total, say 5 or 10% early vs later.

So . . . in a world of lowering Life Expectancy (which is what we have since the virus arrived) and 31 Trillion in debt that could generate cuts to top end benefits — and the fact that early vs later doesn’t accumulate to much different (and certainly not before the years when you accumulate disabilities) — the conventional wisdom of waiting is suspect.

*** Yet he was vilified by the left.***

Trump will always be vilified by the left. He blew their cover, and they will never forgive him for exposing them to so many.
