I’m starting to notice that ‘both sides’ tend to hate America in general when the ‘other side’ has the presidency. I hate fair-weather friends like that. Oh well.
But this Russia thing actively ranting for the nuclear destruction of the USA is really over the top, I’ve looked through DU some and they aren’t that unhinged, usually.

I’ve noticed this more and more in the era of Trump. I call it situational conservatism on our end of the political spectrum. It leaves our movement without core values and morally bankrupt. It’s hard to see a political movement surviving when one day it is for a policy and the next against it.
Putin is a Stalinist and runs that playbook. He flies the Bolsheviks flags, operatives KGB style torture chambers, destroys Ukrainian cities in a Nazi manner, depopulates and genocidally denies the right of Ukraine to exist, etc. There are no secrets here. Putin and his ilk have plainly spoken of this.
