The article author keeps saying that Reagan sold arms for hostages. The hostages were released, BEFORE, Reagan was sworn in. 4+ years later the Russians were playing in Central America funding the Sandinista’s and arming them. This was a violation of the Monroe doctrine, and a clear and present danger to the US. At the same time, Congress had a leader called Tip O’Neil, who managed to pick his nose on CSPAN and go against anything that Reagan tried to do. The democrats, no surprise, were trying to block intervention by the executive to protect the United States from the Communists in central america.

Congress does have the power of the purse, to block US from funding those that proxy fought USSR for the US. They used that card, even though it endangered the nation. Reagan got around that with the IRAN-Contra deal, but the entire link to the Iranian Hostage crisis is just stupid from a time sense.

The left wing still tries to vilify Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Trump, while propping up the likes of Carter, Biden, Obama, Clinton. Well, maybe not the left wing because the government has clearly been involved with the media for longer than twitter, just that the twitter files tell you the control. Especially now, that the truth is out concerning the CIA Watergate operation to sting Nixon (as well as the FBI involvement in MLK and CIA in JFK, ?RFK), it’s becoming more apparent that the US Government has been controlled by the people for a long time....
