Migrants refuse to leave New York City hotel for relocation to Brooklyn

Immigration activists are stirring the pot in New York City. Migrants were scheduled to be moved from the Watson Hotel in Hell’s Kitchen on Sunday night, but they refused to leave. They are to be moved to a new shelter in Brooklyn with all the same services they receive at the hotel. It’s not good enough.

The new shelter is at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. Mayor Adams announced last week that the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal would be a migrant mega-shelter. It will hold up to 1,000 single adult men. This is the fifth Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Center opened in NYC since the migrant buses began arriving in 2022. The Watson Hotel is going to be turned into a family facility so the single adult men have to go.

A rep for Mayor Eric Adams said the city began shuttling single adult men from the Watson Hotel to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal to transition the Watson to house migrant families.

“More than 42,000 asylum seekers have arrived in New York City since last spring and we continue to surpass our moral obligations as we provide asylum seekers with shelter, food, health care, education, and a host of other services,” City Hall spokesperson Fabien Levy said in a statement.

“The facilities at Brooklyn Cruise Terminal will provide the same services as every other humanitarian relief center in the city, and the scheduled relocations to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal this weekend took place as planned. We remain in serious need of support from both our state and federal governments.”

Some of the migrants, supported by the immigration activists, refused to leave. They congregated outside on the sidewalk. Police mobilized around the hotel at about 10:00 p.m. as more than 50 migrants stood outside. Activists assisted with food, water, and translation. The single men weren’t budging.

When a city bus arrived, a small number of men jumped on but the majority stayed in front of the hotel. Activists complained that the migrants were being forced out of the hotel.

One Manhattan activist told The Post the men outside were staying at the hotel and were prepared to stay outside overnight. Some were moved to the new shelter earlier this weekend, but opted to return to the Manhattan site, she said.

“They feel that it’s not livable,” said Valerie, who declined to give her last name but said she was part of a mutual aid coalition helping migrants.

“The hotel won’t let them in so they’re planning to sleep here,” Valerie added.

“Manhattan activist” just screams limousine liberal, doesn’t it? The activists and the migrants think the migrants are entitled to stay at the hotel, maybe indefinitely, instead of moving to a makeshift shelter set up for 1,000 men. This is what irritates many Americans, the sense of entitlement. The migrants broke the law and came into the country under the premise of applying for asylum. If the immigration laws on the books were being applied during the Biden border crisis, very few illegal aliens currently waiting for asylum decisions would qualify. Most migrants are coming for work, for a better life, and that is not a reason for jumping the line and being granted asylum.

Biden campaigned on opening the southern border and this is what happens. Waves of migrants cross the border and expect to be taken care of when they get here. Mayors in sanctuary cities played into it by sanctimoniously proclaiming that everyone is welcome in their cities, whether they are here legally or not. Now you notice that the mayors are crying out for federal help. They have been silent over the plight of border states until the buses started arriving in their cities. Now the migrants are an undue burden for sanctuary cities.

The migrants refused to follow the instructions by the hotel to get on the city buses sent for them. So, the hotel refused to let them back in.

“The hotel Watson told them to get on buses at 7:30 this morning to go to the Red Hook cruise terminal, where the conditions are as bad or worse than the Randalls Island refugee camp that was opened a few months ago. And then the men came immediately back and warned the other residents of this hotel not to get on these buses,” said Sergio Uzurin of the Mutual Aid Collective.

Some of these migrants then crowded around the door, trying to get back into the Watson Hotel. However, the hotel did not immediately let everyone back in.

There have been reports of migrants trashing the hotels that are putting them up. That’s not good for business. Tourists will avoid the hotels. The Biden border crisis has wrecked havoc across the country.

On behalf of my hometown, I thank these illegal immigrants for refusing to degrade Brooklyn, New York.

Keep up the resistance!

Stay in Manhattan!

like the news fella said today- some of those coming over the border may have wanted to work initially, but once they saw all the ‘free stuff’ they quickly turned into entitled spoiled rotten brats

In our town, they refuse to get drivers licenses, refuse to buy insurance on cars, refuse to buy license plates for cars, refuse to pay for car crashes they cause, refuse to obey rules of the road, refuse to speak English, just in general do not observe any laws. This town has plenty of Maids and Yardmen though. Go to Walmart, everyone speaks Spanish only, no English.

The city I live in decided to put homeless men in the city’s convention center. In two weeks they had done $100,000 in damage. The city council didn’t bat an eye but just said they’d have to try something else. Then they wonder why the problem is getting worse.

Relocate them, by force if necessary, back to the border and kick their asses out.

Now that’s just funny, I don’t care who you are!

The nice and caring sanctuary city is trying to evict those they insisted would “always be welcome here”.

Talk about NIMBY! This is it in spades!

Those icky illegal aliens (oops, excuse me! I mean migrants) are simply going to the city that has promised the that they could live there rent free and receive all the benefits that the Vietnam veterans living on the street are denied. How dare the city require them to move out of the 3.5 star hotel the “migrants” are entitled to live in on the tax-payers dime (or millions of dollars—the “dime” thing is a bit out-dated).

Encourage them to leave their cozy taxpayer-funded digs by tossing them out a window...preferably from the 6th floor and up.

Putin would JAIL anyone acting in this way, and some here would criticize him for doing that.
