If anyone noticed, this balloon is solar powered. Most likely for cameras or even motors. If maneuvering, it’s a game changer since the giant airships of the 1930s.

It started out as 40,000 ft, now CNN says 60,000 ft and it’s a civilian research balloon. My understanding is that very few things in China are “civilian” and something like this... No.
