'We're tired': 116-year-old Seattle business to close shop over encampment safety concerns

SEATTLE HOMELESS CRISIS FORCES CLOSURE OF 116 YEAR-OLD BUSINESS

Seattle-Demise-20230205
Thea Sand: "We’ve just kind of had it with what’s happening in Seattle"

SEATTLE (KOMO) — A business in Seattle's SODO neighborhood has survived everything from world wars to the Great Depression and even multiple pandemics, but says it can't continue to stay open anymore due to the homeless crisis downtown.

Thea Sand, the fifth-generation owner of Emmanuel's Rug and Upholstery Cleaners SODO, said she is closing her business and leaving Seattle due to the persistent health and safety issues from nearby encampments.

"We’ve just kind of had it with what’s happening in Seattle with our euphemistically termed by the city council 'unhomed neighbors,'" said Sand.

She described the situation outside her business, saying they've had trucks stolen from their locked lot, and every Monday morning they arrive to graffiti and needles on the ground. She even arrived to a burning mattress in the parking lot one morning.

"Our clients are nervous coming down here to drop off," said Sand.

Sand said someone in an RV recently backed down the loading dock of her business and dumped raw sewage into a drain. She said she got the run around from the catch basin and sewage pumping companies for clean-up, so she and her employees had to take matters into their own hands.

"So my employees and I put on basically rubber suits and gas masks and had a five gallon container of Clorox and had to clean it ourselves." Sand said it was the final straw for the 116-year-old business.

"We’ve been able to struggle through a lot of things, but this last one is just unremitting and constant," she continued. "We’re just tired. We’re just tired of dealing with it, and it’s time to relocate."

Sand's decision to move out comes as a plan to create a designated lot for people living in RVs in Seattle has stalled while officials search for a property owner who is willing to host the program.

If Americans don't stop the election cheating, Seattle is what America's towns and cities will all look like.

Seattle has been an early case of election and voting fraud spanning two decades now.

Once a charming, laid-back, friendly Boeing town filled with talented engineers and machinists, the City has been a progenitor of Woke Culture before "Woke" became a term in the American vocabulary.

Before any of you say something to the effect, "They voted for it!"; No! Residents did NOT vote for socialism.

Since at least 2004, King County WA, which contains Seattle, has had corrupt election officials in its election office. This is confirmed in court cases. The courts are corrupt as well as they had clear irrefutable evidence presented of election rigging and cheating, yet chose to do nothing about it.

Most of the county and court staff are well-meaning, they genuinely try and give the "little guy" a fair shake. But they are not involved in the higher level corruption in the state and federal judiciary nor in the county and executive offices.

Today, WA State has authorized mail-in voting throughout the State. The political class there has used and continues to use its control over mail-in ballots to consolidate its power.

The corruption is in the government executive ranks.

And don't think the corruption is strictly tied to Democrats, although in King County the Democrats control most everything. Corruption in government executive ranks is found throughout our United States with well-publicized examples found in such regions as Fulton County, GA and Maricopa County, AZ, where these are controlled by REPUBLICANS, so-called.

What is truly, truly disturbing is this blatant election corruption has gone nationwide as we witnessed in November 2020, yet Congress says and does nothing.

The election theft of 2020 is treated as if it never happened; same for 2022.

What's equally disturbing is the political aristocratic class, which includes both DNC and RNC, are pushing controlled candidates into the 2024 election season with ability to select and install whichever candidate they agree will serve their mutual interests.

The allusion of voting exists in regions where political power is concentrated; it is allusory. Real voting power is allowed to operate in regions where political power is not a threat; the rural hinterlands. There are group rooms that treat the political landscape as a chessboard. It is not necessary to control every square.

The silver lining in this that can easily escape attention is that Seattle Times reporters Hannah Everman and Jeremy Harris are even ALLOWED TO WRITE AND PUBLISH something so blatantly anti-woke.

My experience is the underlayment of Woke persons is filled with go-along to get-along types dressed in jeans and casuals that just want the "Can't we all just get along?" refrain to permeate their day-to-day lives.

They are actually good but misguided people. I'm not referring here to the Kshami Sawant types (who is a substrain of the AOC variant), I'm referring to those attending community and local colleges, or bagging groceries at Trader Joe's. They will never get ahead, they just mark time marching in place. Eventually their only relef is to get that rent subsidy, that EBT food and cash assistance. G_d forbid they get pregnant with a human fetus.

Here's a 1-minute video example from NYC which is identical to the ethos flowing about in Seattle and other Woke cities of intelligent ill-informed people:

https://newtube.app/user/Hostage/dKTI71t

What this observation entails is, the Woke underlayment of such misguided persons can be turned around.

But it doesn't matter if their votes don't count.

And as of today, their names are voted, but not their votes

The takeaway is:

WE ARE ABSOLUTELY INSANE TO SPEND OUR DAYS HENCE WITHOUT GETTING TO THE BOTTOM OF NOVEMBER 2020.

For those readying to make comments, try reading the article before engaging your keyboard/pads. Thank you.

Seattle was and is a test case for the WEF Great Reset “YOU WILL OWN NOTHING AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY” which is permeating the once beautiful and charming city with Cultural Marxism.

The real engines that drive Seattle’s demise are federal block grants and contracts that are snapped up by the judiciary and its lawyer class. Lawyers rule just as in DC.

High ranking Bankers draw phantom funds from the Federal Reserve at 0%, buy US Treasuries paying them 3.5%, the cash is controlled by a political and lawyer ruling class that dispenses to their lawyer colleagues in compliant regions of the States, especially where election rigging is to be controlled on the chessboard.

The 3.5% interest is passed on to the Federal balance sheet with American taxpayers on the hook to pay it.

To divide and conquer the American Proletariat and Bourgeoisie, the growing homeless population is used to distract.

Antifa (rich young whites, young college students, and woke young professors) are funded by contacts within law firms that have their hands on the money pot.

Spurred by the mysterious death of JFK Jr., who was leading by massive margins against Hillary Clinton in the race for US Senator from New York, Donald Trump, who was very close to JFK Jr., gave up his incredibly successful life to enter the stinking and disgusting arena of politics which after 24 years of Clinton-Bush-Obama had left the upper ranks of federal government populated with Fauci’s and leftist Obama ideologues.

Donald Trump left his good life and walked into a Marxist Enemy Camp with traitors and thieves everywhere.

And he was not allowed the power to appoint to cabinets who he wanted nor was he allowed to fire federal employees. He took abuse day after day, hour after hour, and was blamed for everything including picking the wrong people for jobs which he didn’t fully control.

In the end, the DC ruling class ousted him in a planned Coup d’Etat with CCP complicity and installed a criminal puppet government led by an illegitimate occupier wholly owned by the CCP.

Get smart or stay stupid; your call.

That’s pretty bad. Seattle is losing an historic local business due to too many bums and not enough city support.
Maybe they can move to a different town and continue the business.

Once you have owned and operated a successful company for a long period of time, it’s hard to consider making a living any other way.
You have learned to work your business model, learned to pay the taxes and utilities, obtain the permits, maintain the inventory within budget, hire and manage staff.
These are very valuable skills, most being transferable to new locations.

Anywhere with mail in voting will remain a democrat majority. With so many, “unhomed neighbors” in states like Washington and Oregon, where the entire state is ruled by one or two cities, all the bums receive “help” from “voting rights groups” and can have their ballots easily counted where they are needed to give the democrats a push. And the defense is always “there is no widespread proof of mail in voting fraud.” OF course. Mail in voting IS the fraud.

If Americans don't stop the election cheating, Seattle is what America's towns and cities will all look like.

98% of Americans have made no connection between these things. They will have to suffer, badly, to have their minds re-programmed by reality before anything changes

City support? Hell, my state and city basically wiped out my business thanks to shutdowns ordered by the state tyrant and enforced by the local cops. I can do without city help.

Democrat run cities hate honest productive people. It’s going to be the end of the middle class.

Good post.

Seattle is a true tragedy—located in a beautiful part of the world and at one point looked like it was becoming a major center of western civilization for centuries to come....

Homo sapiens just can’t seem to keep its act together.

"If Americans don't stop the election cheating, Seattle is what America's towns and cities will all look like. Seattle has been an early case of election and voting fraud spanning two decades now."

Exactly. And it should not have to be said at this point but: Stop Voting Democrat.

Destroying cities and promoting crime, all while raising your taxes- It's what D's do.

Worked in downtown Seattle in the late 80s. Beautiful, safe city. It was not unusual to see hunters with rifles slung walking the sidewalks to gun stores from the ferries.

Went back 2 years ago to show my new wife (remarried after my wife of 44 years died a few years ago) the Northwest and wished I hadn't, even Vancouver, Canada is following the San Fransicko decay. KOMO's documentary "Seattle is Dying" understates their state of affairs (if that is possible)!

For those wanting to visit..., Victoria, BC has (so-far) resisted much of the decay!

I’ve always suspected voter fraud to be much more prevalent than people thought. They just got real obvious with it with Trump and woke many people up.

I ran for State Senate in Seattle in the 90s.

One precinct voted 100% for the Dem.

It was entirely a senior home. Someone stole and filled out all the ballots.

I don’t see it being stopped. The Republican Party does not want it stopped. The Democrat Party will not stop cheating. From 2020 forward, the only Republican Candidates elected will be those the Democrats approve. Oh, the Democrats will not cheat in every race. But they will cheat in enough races to remain in control.
