Liberals in Canada folded amid backlash from farmers, hunters, and indigenous groups, and have removed hunting rifles and shotguns from the long list of firearms being banned under Prime Minister Trudeau’s “assault weapons” ban.
On May 10, 2020, Breitbart News noted Trudeau’s “assault weapons” ban targeted 1,500 firearms, a number of which were bolt action rifles.
Bolt action rifles require manual operation of the action between shots in order to eject a spent shell casing and load a fresh cartridge into the chamber. Such an action is typical for traditional hunting rifles, not “assault weapons.”

Its good in a way that this is happening. If any American thinks that the Dems won’t classify any hunting rifle as an “assault weapon” if given the chance, here is a view into how liberals in any country define “assault” weapons.

LOL! Please, Mr. Trudeau, can we at least keep our hunting rifles?
Just because some Canadians are standing up to the Castroites in Canada, does not mean that Trudeau and his tribe are relenting one bit. They just have to recraft their language and renew their assault on what what was a one-time dominion that still pledged their fealty to the British Crown.
Consider what finally happened to Hong King. The Chinese CCP ties are strong and growing every every day.
They still have to have a permit for purchasing ammunition, I don’t know if it’s a hunting license or some kind of a purchasing license for ammunition but it’s a license and I’m sure there’s tests and classes and everything else associated with Canadian licensing agreements.
Still a tremendous amount of ignorant liberals & NDPs in Canada.
I wonder if lever action rifles are/were defined as “assault rifles” under this ban?
Actually this is just normal behavior...
Shoot for the moon, knowing you won’t get it.. back off some to look “reasonable” and get what you really wanted but folks feel placated.

I think I would have inserted the the words, “for now” in the headline and lead sentence.
A clear majority actually. Combine the Libs and NDP and you are close to 66%. This is why Canada is the world’s worst underachiever. Alberta should secede today.
A small start, but Canadian voters need to remove liberals from public office and public employment if they want to make real progress.
Liberals always take a bite, sometimes they need to rethink the size in order to digest the item....... Liberals just bite off what they could this time, they will be back for the hunting weapons later!
They are still going to have an "assault weapon" ban.

Alberta has an election coming and its a real danger that NDP could win. Edmonton and Calgary have been filled up with too many commies.
