In another week or so Bakhmut will be surrounded, whatever “defensive positions” the Ukrainians have will be wiped out. The Russians are clearly winning, only an intervention by the US/NATO would change the course of things now.

Best policy is don’t invade your peaceful neighbors. Then you don’t have to worry about boom.

This manner of fighting has been about a war of attrition from the beginning. The Russians want back the ground they lost in 1991, but don’t want to render it useless by destroying it. So they enter, and stick around long enough to have the Ukrainians use their force up, then bail and let the locals suffer enough to discourage further fighting and complain to the government. The Russians perfected this type of offense/defense fighting centuries ago and have used it successfully with the best known being against Napoleon by retreat.

The Russians are patient and haven’t even started to unleash their non-combative weapons like cutting off the natural gas they ship all over the world. And with China’s help, they haven’t even really stretched their legs yet. It should be remembered that the European and Asian outlook of life is different than ours. Life is just a tool to them. Otherwise, why would they send “soldiers” into battle with no weapons other than just to supply numbers for the media to get tanks and aircraft?

Much of that money is being lost to corruption, both in Ukraine and the US. And keep in mind all those billions aren’t just going to the military, we are totally subsidizing the Ukrainian economy, paying their pensions, paying salaries of government workers, ect. Ukraine would be in total economic collapse without those funds. And guess who will be stuck paying for these things after the war is finally over? This will wind up being another trillion $$$ plus neocon debacle, just like our useless wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, ect.

They asked a Ukrainian commander if this 4 hour number was correct. He shrugged and said something like “I think it’s a little longer.”

Actually the lesson here is don’t think you can cozy up to NATO and cause an existential threat to Russian security without having your country destroyed. You appear to be as stupid as Zelensky.

And then, there was that time when the commonsense based truth was uttered on Freerepublic in the middle of the umpteenth thousandth “You are a Deep State Propagandist” v. the “You are Russian Stooge for Putin” debate.

Here is the facts.

Willy OAM interviewed quite a few mercs and the one that struck me most was the former Marine who said that in no way would the Ukrainians win this war without outside boots on the ground.

Any Ukrainian killed from this point on is murder committed by Zelensky and the Biden Criminal enterprise.

--- "Best policy is don't invade your peaceful neighbors. Then you don't have to worry about boom."

Clever. Explain that to our service personnel's families whose loved ones died in Xuân Lộc ans in Fallujah and so many other places where we were essentially the invaders.

At 75, I worry about other things now. Like the massive debt which is paying for too much involvement in Syria and Sudan and.... So much for your "peaceful neighbors" ploy.

A bedrock principle of globalism is destruction of the biblical nuclear family. You bet nato/eu loves them some rainbow-flag.

That’s the same mindset that Muslims use when they throw acid in their desired woman’s face because she’s not interested in them.

Who Ukraine cozy’s up to is Ukraine’s business.

It’s not the reason for Russia’s invasion. Ukrainian natural resources is the reason.

Even the UN is claiming a high number at 4.8 million Ukrainian refugees and that is just then Imber that they admit to.
According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the number of refugees from Ukraine registered for temporary protection in Europe as of January 31, 2023 is 4,823,330 people. This was reported by the official portal of the UNHCR.

It sucks to be a trusting Bidenista.

Russia had no need for additional natural resources, they already had plenty of that. But now they will take and keep Ukrainian resources to make up for the cost of war and the US stealing $300 billion of their foreign reserves.

What will the Ukrainians get out of this other than a totally destroyed country? They were played for suckers in this and are going to be pretty angry (and that’s an understatement) with the results when this thing finally ends. The ruined lives, the destroyed country, an entire generation killed off only to be left with a poverty stricken rump state at best.

Bakhmut is almost completely surrounded, it wont be long now. We are looking at the turning point in this war.

That's what they said at Verdun.
