The Reagan Rule was never about not criticizing rivals vying for the party’s nomination. It’s always been fair game to attack your primary opponents. Trump knows DeSantis will be running against him even if others haven’t figured it out yet.
The Repub Gov Assn and the RNC are actively opposing Trump. DeSantis supporters in both orgs have been pushing him forward and denigrating Trump. Trump is counter punching. He is not a foolish or a stupid man.
