The reason she didn’t mention his name is because there is a presidential campaign just getting under way, and she did not want to make any comment that could be construed as a campaign endorsement. Smart move on her part.

Her launching pad was being given the opportunity to serve as Press Secretary at the White House. Trump believed in her. Like so many others that served in his administration, they all seem to want to run away from the man who made it possible.
