Scroll down - it’s the big square one in the pic lol. Loved it. It sure got those diapers clean (mainly because I let it run for so long) and the sunshine on the clothes line finished them off!

“Even the top-loaders are allowing a pitiful amount of water for clothes to swish around in....”

Most have a mode to allow filling the tub. Ours has a “heavy load” setting.

Lowes most popular model (a Maytag):

Water Level Options

Set the Water Level knob to the Auto Sensing setting and the washer will fill to a level that ensures the load engages the agitator. From this point, the electronic control will sense the load and determine if additional water is needed. Set the Water Level knob to the Deep Water Wash setting and the washer will fill to the maximum water level.

My wife throws everything into the dishwasher. I prefer to hand wash.
It’s quicker, and uses less water.

“It’s hard to find a decent washing machine these days.”

“Amen!” to that.

Ours does only one rinse when every other one we’ve had automatically did a second rinse. (You can tweak it to do a second rinse.)

When it’s obvious there’s a problem, if you open the lid to check it out, it shuts off and stops swishing. You can’t identify the problem. (You can buy them with a transparent lid, but you shouldn’t have to.)

You can’t do a hot-water rinse.

I despise those safety and eco limits. The laundry gets very clean, though.

HA! All these appliances used to last for 30 years. Now many of them only last for 5. Big savings alright.

If you choose cremation your dryer could be used to hold your urns.

Thanks for that information. I have an accu-wash setting on my machine and I do believe it has the same function. I will have to try it out.

Reinstate the use of R-12 in refrigerators and freezers and you’ll see an instant increase in energy efficiency.

I heard from some neighbors recently to only buy a Speedqueen, that it was the best.

Yes, we bought a Speedqueen a couple of months ago and it works great, water fills to the top of the tub just like a 1970s washing machine.

We bought a brand new Maytag washer in 1992.It lasted 18 years. After it went we bought a new washer with a computerized board (can't remember the name brand) that ruined our clothes. Most came out stained. We sold it for less than we paid and bought a used/rebuilt Maytag, all mechanical that we are still using. I will go back to the same business and buy a used/rebuilt washer as a back up.
