North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has detected another unidentified object, this time over northern Canada, the military says. It was not immediately clear whether the object is a spy balloon.
NORAD said on Saturday afternoon that it was tracking a “high-altitude airborne object” over Northern Canada. Military planes are in the area to monitor the object.
#Breaking NORAD confirms @globalnews exclusive reporting that they have spotted another potential spy balloon. This time over Canada and say NORAD aircraft are in the area “we have positively identified a high-altitude airborne object over Northern Canada”— Mercedes Stephenson (@MercedesGlobal) February 11, 2023
JUST IN -- NORAD is tracking "additional objects that could be spy balloons."

Here’s an idea: Let’s fly one of our own spy balloons over China and see if they get their panties in a knot. They said shooting it down was uncalled for, so they should feel the same about ours, right?
Yep, poor Santa took his sleigh out for a joy ride.
Maybe the chicoms are trying to get us to use up all our sidewinders. Use cannon fire to bring it down; - much cheaper.
Sounds like Rudolph was taking Santa’s sleigh out for a spin.
So one genius says they have an “unidentified object” and another bleeper, in the same news says the POC is “positively identified.”
The only thing that is positive is that nobody in gummint can make a clear statement to save their retirement plans?
If it’s as small as the one we just took down, I’d like to get detailed pictures of it before it gets splashed.
Send up a U2 first and get all we can first.
From yesterday. Canada’s Deep State chose not to shoot it down.
Next report, good news, it isn’t a Chinese balloon, it’s a missile.
God forbid.
Apology. Chinese actions are never funny.
“Maybe the chicoms are trying to get us to use up all our sidewinders.”
If there are several, you could be right. Or else make NORAD commit a bunch of fighters to respond to several bogies at the same time, and thus weaken our defenses because so many of our assets are involved tracking balloons, or whatever.
“Send up a U2 first and get all we can first.”
That’s actually a pretty good idea.
Like cheap stage magicians’ acts the Chicoms want us to watch the balloon while they process data from other sources and complete their total matrix of our defenses.
The path of the earlier balloon passed over silos and stealth locations as well as monitored our defense positions.
Shoot down a Chinese satellite
“Shoot down a Chinese satellite.”
That’s somewhat more problematical.
“Send up a U2 first and get all we can first.”
That’s actually a pretty good idea.

That is what was done with the earlier one.
It had antennas and such. Can intercept signals satellites can’t.
Stealth locations? Nobody has yet mentioned the stealth balloons - guess how many are over us right now.
