Ford Motor Company has announced an unspecified potential battery issue has led the company to stop producing and shipping its electric F-150 truck model, according to reports.

Motor Authority reported Thursday that the company had placed a “stop-build and an in-transit stop-ship order” on the truck.

The automaker discovered the issue during its “pre-delivery quality inspections,” the outlet’s Joel Feder noted, citing Ford representative Emma Bergg.

“The team is diligently working on the root cause analysis,” CNBC quoted Bergg as saying.

It is not clear when Ford will begin producing and shipping the model again.

“It depends on how long it will take to conduct the root cause analysis,” Bergg told Motor Authority.

DOH! So, "...unspecified potential battery issue..." Is that anything like "sources close to the issue" or "un-named authorities". Meanwhile in the E-yewwwwww, ford will let go of employees as EVs become the goal. Again, DOH!

1) burst into flames
2) severely overestimated range, pulling power, and recharge time.

I know what the problem is: the batteries are made in China. You have to expect problems when the people who make your base components work in slave labor factories or are paid wages not sufficient to live off of. Not to mention the fact that people can be locked in their homes for weeks without advance notice so they might not make it to work for weeks while someone else substitutes for them who might not be a top notch employee. It’s hard to get slave labor to care about the quality of their work.

Potentially incinerating the owners and/or their residence does present some worrisome issues.

Look people. The issue will get fixed. It’s the mandates we should be against. If market conditions are allowed to take care of the issue we’ll all be better off. We need to protect against the Edsell being put in our face.

My EV was made in Korea and the battery was made in China. When my car had 24000 miles on it, the battery was replaced under a recall. They offered a lifetime warranty on the battery for the first few model years but current models get only 10 years. I was told that the battery is priced at 32000 dollars which is more than the car would cost. I think they would go bankrupt trying to support lifetime warranties.

EV road trip. Nothing abnormal happened, but they were stressed out anyway. Oh, and they were cold because they were afraid to use the heater, lol.

Whoever decided to send Ford down this path of EV adoption should be fired along with any in the Executive Suite and BOD that supported him. They will be lucky to survive.

I would rather drive a 1930 Ford Model A - cost half as much as electric, you could drive it 50 mph and get to a 300 mile destination a couple of hours sooner and in style.

Any car can incinerate its owner because they are made of plastic which is all hydrocarbons. There have been some EV fires but they make news more often than regular gas cars which burn up all the time but we don’t hear about them because they are quite frequent and not really news. One EV fire in Florida was talked about so much that it seemed like there were are lot of electric vehicles catching on fire. But it was one car.

Meanwhile, Toyota has decided that the EV market is a dead end and has not gone woke like the rest of the automotive industry.
