This had to do with EBC, Electronic Braking Control I believe. The rule forcing trains to install them, supposedly was rescinded by Trumps secretary of Transportation ...Coco Chow?
I have a friend who recently retired as a train Engineer. What they are talking about is bunkum. The trains use a locomotive F and R. Braking is accomplished by computer control, the “caboose” end pulls back a little bit all the time, to keep the string of cars taut. In an emergency braking situation, the caboose locomotive controlled by the computer brakes the exact amount as the Engineer applies. Each individual car may brake better with EBC, but once derailment happens all but the Locomotives are no longer part of the system, and cannot brake electronically at all.
IMO, someone is putting shims on the tracks to cause derailings. Antifa has been doing this in Whatcom County Wa state. At least twice on empty oil train tanker runs. The eco whacko alliance I think.
