They didn't freeze. They just had to pay twice as much to heat their homes thanks to Biden's failed sanction war and because we blew up the Nord Stream pipelines.
Many European, especially in Germany, have the right to hate our guts as a result.

That was the strategy. Russia would take over Ukraine and then use energy to dictate terms to the EU. The long-term goal was to use the threat of energy cut off to keep the EU out of the China / Tiawan conflict.
This is all in support of the BRICs vs US Dollar conflict.
But China’s and Russia’s plan was derailed when Ukraine put up a fight and denied Russia an easy victory.
