The USSR was morally bankrupt and left scars in modern day Russia too so to speak.
It will take generations to undo that damage in Russia.
In contrast, Poland, during the darkest days of Communism, the people still clung to their faith, and that is why they were able to quickly restore their country after the Iron Curtain fell.
It still is!
