Leave Austin Now: Massive Wave of Police Retirements Coming as Repercussions from Defunding Hit Home
The Liberty Daily ^ | 2/25/23 | J.D. Rucker

Texas is generally considered a red (though leaning more and more purple) state. Republicans have been able to keep control outside of the metro areas and even in most of the metros the gab between blue and red is smaller than most other big cities.

The exception has been Austin which models itself more after San Francisco and Los Angeles than Dallas or Houston. The city was among those leading the charge during 2020’s big #DefundPolice movement and the results have been bad. They’re about to get worse. According to Fox News:

The same thing is happening in Democrat-controlled cities nation-wide. I agree that, as much as it may distress a family to move from a long-timed home, it is probably best to move now while you can still get a decent price for your home. That unless you are a liberal. If you are a liberal just stay in place and enjoy the results of your support for "defunding" the police and allowing crime to run rampant.

Sadly, the net result will be that nonsense drifting into the surrounding suburbs.

US 41 in Sarasota County, Florida where I live had big backups earlier despite no accidents.

Housing density guidelines must be adjusted downward for more affluent areas.

“it is probably best to move now while you can still get a decent price for your home”

In my opinion Austin is severely overpriced.

Many college towns share this characteristic.

The police should announce that, unless the city adopts the 4 year contract that had bee agreed to, no police personnel will be coming to work on April 1st, so the criminals should feel free to have at it.

I believe that Governor Abbott has already publically taken a position on this. The position that a city that defunds the police will be punished for their neglect of law enforcement.

I suspect he means it, too.

“These liberal policies cause liberals to flee like locusts to infest a rural neighborhood near you”

___

I know. And the first thing they do is attend the next county commission meeting to explain to us yokels how things SHOULD be done. They think they are the first “enlightened” newcomers to move in and we will be in awe of their intelligence and willingness to explain to us why we need more red-lights in our county, free bus service to the liberal county next door, more restrictive zoning to prevent new chicken houses being built, and more diversity on our school board.

They do not realize we have been through the same cycle several times in the past. We always respond with “No, our one red-light serves us well enough, people can shop locally or find their own way to the shops in the next county, the school board is comprised of long-standing and respected community members, and chicken houses contribute greatly to our county’s economy.

It takes a while, but eventually they shut up with their whining and some even move back to the county next door.

I spent a night at a hotel in Austin a few years ago.

All the restaurants had extra security, the hotel warned us they were not responsible for thefts from our car, and every business had bars across their windows. Additionally, some bizarre old partly demolished supported highway was left in ruins in the area, with no apparent plans to ever complete the work.

Austin is an absolute dump, across large swaths of it. If you value your life, don't go to such places, at least at night.

The drive-throughs had many cameras and warning we were being recorded. It was freakier than NYC.

I recall Dallas on the news a few years back as having a nearly bankrupt pension program for all of its police and some other workers. It was reminding me of what Detroit had happen, and I remarked to a friend that no one should want to move to whatever county Dallas was in, because when the police services are compromised, such cities rely on the county to cover for crime response, meaning that any other towns or cities in that area are forced to directly help cover the policing of the defunct city.

Later hearing Dallas had BLM protests just made me realize red states are often not thoroughly red and are therefore dangerous in their own right.

Everyone should defund liberalism in the most practical ways possible. Don't move or live in such chaos, voluntarily.

That move is believed by many to be due to intense pressure from anti-police activists in the city who look to hold off a long term deal until after voters decide on competing ballot initiatives dealing with “police oversight” that go before voters in May.

Well, it looks like it's time for the PD to go to lunch.

Till about September.

But they will give callers the names, phone numbers and location of the "anti-police activists" so they can come over and stop the assaults', robberies, etc.

Then they can all go vote in November...

Do you think the LBJ ranch and his museum of lifetime demonrat War on Poverty kleptocracy and psychopathic power freakism— is in any danger? Dem defunding the cops for only “certain” areas?

Stay alert and carry.
