Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Tuesday claimed the Democrat-lead initiative to transfer student debt to the taxpayer “isn’t a handout to the wealthy,” despite contrary evidence by the Penn Wharton Budget Model.
Schumer’s comment came as the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on whether or not the Biden administration’s attempt to transfer $400 billion in loans to the taxpayer is constitutional. Biden’s plan would allegedly benefit 40 million college-educated Americans, though the forgiveness could result in a $2,500 burden per taxpayer, the National Taxpayers Union estimated.
In just a few hours, Pres. Joe Biden’s student debt relief plan will come under the scrutiny of SCOTUS, whose justices will decide in the months following today’s oral arguments whether the $400 billion program is constitutional.

Lighten up Chucky, you thieving Dung beetle.
Listen to schlubby Senator Sleestack.
It’s a handout to the children of the wealthy.
It’s a hand out. That’s all I care about.
It’s a handout to grifters or the wealthy, or the grifting wealthy.
But it is a hand out to democrat voters Chuck.
It’s a handout to the Snowflake Student Loan deadbeats.
It’s a handout to those whom the Democrat Party hopes will become its future leaders. An advance payment for future services rendered.
Good thing the Senate is handcuffed now with Fetterwoman in the hospital and Feinstein wandering around not knowing where she is. Kinda puts a crimp on Schumers antics.
“No no no no no no no no no......” He explained.
It can be classified as a handout but in the end it tells everyone that taking responsibility for your own actions - no matter the reason - is a sucker’s play.
Work hard and pay off your own debt? Why do that when eventually Uncle Sam will just come in behind you to clean it up by taking it from someone else.
Incentivizes people to behave poorly.
It isn’t, hmm? Why not? “Because I say it isn’t,” he explained.
nd it rewards those who didn’t take responsibility and went into debt without a plan to repay. Responsible borrowers paid back those loans. The G’vt & Universities share the blame for psuhing aid when the degrees taken and projected earnings in those fields did not support repayment. Work study and summer jobs should be required as the first line for loans and loans should be tied to realistic job prospects not passed out like candy. Many of these people would have been better w/o a college degree, in a trade or working their way up the ladder. The loans allowed them to spend years partying and wasting taxpayer money.
I am totally against this, but if the f*****s are planning on doing it, I am not going to pay off my daughters loans just yet.
However, my daughters have watched this come up for 3 elections in a row- promised just before the next election cycle, only to be dashed to the rocks right after the election.
This is the 4th ‘ramp up’ they have seen, and I think my more liberal one is starting to get ‘a clue’
And I’m sure Chuck has some beachfront real estate in Nebraska he’d like to sell us.
Still, in defense of those who make a big production of being generous in public in order to get social credit...at least they are using their own money in their show of being generous.
What then to make of the politicians who use other people's money in a show to be generous and who are rewarded with a paid position of honor and power for such "generosity"?
If you like it, Chucky, then have the Senate and House vote for it rather than having Biden pass it around by executive order.
I’d be all for it if it only came out of senators and congressmen’s pay and retirement.
Schmucky lies as much as Bidet.
