Alex Murdaugh’s high-profile trial for allegedly murdering his wife and son has been as twisted as the disgraced lawyer’s murky personal and professional lives.
The disbarred South Carolina attorney faces possible life imprisonment over the fatal shootings of his wife Maggie, 52, and son Paul, 22, who were found shot to death in the dog kennel of their Islandton hunting lodge on June 7, 2021.
Prosecutors allege that Murdaugh, 54, killed them in order to deflect from his financial crimes. Even if he is found not guilty, he is expected to potentially spend decades in prison for stealing from clients and defrauding his former law firm, which he has openly admitted to doing.

Forgot the best part. He hired someone to kill him so that his son would get paid by insurance. The person failed.
I wonder if thee drug cartel killed his family.
If he spent “millions” on his drug addiction, he must have been dealing with some very nasty people.
could the “mob” have killed his family as an act of terror?
Couldn’t he be such a coward as to not mention the “hit”?
A sociopath who fits the profile of a family annihilator. Like he told his wife’s sister, as she testified to, “He said that he did not know who it was, but he felt like whoever did it had thought about it for a really long time.” (Marian Proctor)
Drug cartel. That’s my alternate theory. Either that or Alex got mad because Paul and Maggie had confiscated his oxy pills, had a confrontation with them about it at the kennels and in a fit of withdrawal got 2 guns and shot them to death.
Personally I think he was dealing drugs as well as taking them. Nobody spends $50,000-$60,0000 per week on oxygen tin at $15 per pill. He was either buying drugs to sell or he owed the drug cartel and was paying them weekly.
A defense attorney said “just because he did it doesn’t mean he’s guilty”. Because you have to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt and at this point I think he probably did it but not beyond a reasonable doubt.
Well, when you put it THAT way...
The drug cartel theory is absolutely laughable.
Agree, I'm leaning towards the extraterrestrial theory.
in a fit of withdrawal got 2 guns and shot them to death.
= = =
Why need 2 guns?
I haven’t been following other than headlines.
If he had been allowed a standard sized mag, one should have been enough.
The two guns is a total mystery. It doesn’t seem plausible for a rage killing by one person. That’s one of the reasonable doubt factors IMO. He also should have been covered in blood spatter from the close quarters shotgun blasts at 1-3 ft in an enclosed space. Its the most screwball murder I’ve heard of.
Because I think he planned it and made the decision on THAT day that he’d carry it out.
The thing that upsets me about this trial is how they entered evidence that didnt prove anything like cell phones.
Trying to convict someone on how many steps they took according to their phone?
The time line is based on cell phone data and GPS. How many of us know GPS doesnt always work?
One witness gave testimony on throwing a cell phone. Before it was over the expert said, everyone in this court room knows as much as I do!!!!!! unbelievable
A Fox News banner says the judge announced a guilty verdict.
I can’t confirm that anywhere else.
