The Israeli left de-facto controls the judiciary and doesn’t want to lose their remaining power. As far as I can tell there is no other principle they are defending. The fact that they equate rule by an un-elected self-selected judiciary with “democracy” tells me that this is about power and nothing else.
At least their left wing still carries the Israeli flag. I don’t remember Antifa or Black Lives Matter people ever carrying American flags.
It makes it more like our federal system in the US politicians appoint the AG and judges.
Also the judiciary’s power to overturn laws is diminished.
They are being told what to think. Just like the red diaper doper babies over here. They couldn’t continue their argument past the two or three catch phrases they’ve learned to repeat. Just hate and envy… and the thrill of doing something other than sitting around smoking weed.
