Republican lawmakers in Pennsylvania want newly-elected Democrat US Sen. John Fetterman to show his face or resign.

The new senator, who was sworn into office Jan. 3 after defeating Republican opponent Dr. Mehmet Oz in a hotly-contested race last November, has been MIA since mid-February, when he was checked into the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center reportedly suffering clinical depression.

“Regarding the absent Senator,” the Washington County Republican Party wrote in a press release Monday.

They will be ignored, but at least they are on record as demanding he make a public appearance.

It was strange to me that immediately upon Fetterman's admittance to the hospital, the word went out that he would remain there for some time. How was that decision made so quickly?

I can hear it now. “Leave it to the Republicans to be vicious towards the clinically deceased.”

It’s going to take a while to find a body double for that freak.

Why are they doing this?

Dead, brain dead or actually being treated for depression if he is not present he can't vote.

This is a gain for us.

Mitch McConnel and Chuck Schumer have established and extra constitutional government and they are perfectly happy with brain dead Senators. What scares them are Senators with a brain.

IMHO, ^THIS^ is the “post of the day”.

Seems to be a news blackout on him and his current condition. If he has serious problems then they will not be able to hide this too much longer. Someone at Walter Reed is going to leak this regardless.

His wife leaving like she did wasn’t;t a good look either, what wife leaves her husband if he is such shape?

It was quite touching how Fetterman’s wife, after the man was rushed to the hospital, packed up the kids and immediately flew out of the United States.

Of course, if the man is in a coma or dead, there would be no reason for his wife to visit. If he is brain dead, his wife would not want to be put on the spot by American journalists wanting to know how the senator is doing.

This could be the senatorial sequel to “Weekend at Bernie’s.”

They shouldn’t be pushing for this — at least not now.

Better to have the seat occupied by a brain damaged ogre who can’t cast votes than to have the Democratic governor of PA appoint an interim replacement.

Hahaha “The Washington County Republican Party”

Sorry folks, but the Republican Party of PA is a JOKE. Been in control of both houses of the legislature for all but 4 out of the last 28 years, and we have the highest gas taxes in the country, the schools are disgrace.. Harrisburg is as big of a swamp if not bigger than DC in some ways.

Until people wake up and realize the Republican Party Establishment is part of the problem don’t expect anything to change.

This is just fluffing for the cameras... nothing is going to happen, and they really don’t want anything to happen.

IF Fetterman dies or has to quit, Shapiro will just appoint his wife or something silly like that, or some other left wing democrat.. and a special election would happen next cycle.... and guess what?

The PA GOP has NO ONE, or at least no one they will accept, that has a shot at winning statewide. As long as the PA GOP Establishment continues to piss on conservatives legs every chance they get, and making sure anyone remotely conservative doesn’t get on the ballot, or if they do then they do everything they can to undercut them.... Nothing is going to change.

46%D
37%R
15%I

That’s the PA electorate makeup.. you want to win statewide as a republican you need to be able to win the I’s by more than 2 to one and/or pick off a LOT of conservative/moderate D voters...

Currently the GOP Party of PA has absolutely no desire to support anyone who is populist enough to actually manage to pull that off.

I fear I’m being naive here. If Fetterman can’t make to the Senate to vote in person, doesn’t the GOP hold a 50 - 49 advantage?
