Yosemite snow totals smash 54-year-old record

Yosemite National Park remains closed indefinitely as startling photos show popular parts of Yosemite Valley buried in snow.

Heated tents in Curry Village and a shuttle stop near Yosemite Falls, both highly trafficked locations even during the cold season, were blanketed in snow.

The park originally closed to visitors last weekend as severe winter weather approached the Sierra Nevada. The storm ultimately dumped "up to 15 feet" of snow in some areas of Yosemite, the park noted on Twitter, and created whiteout conditions across the region over several days.

For its part, Yosemite Valley tallied 40 inches of snow Tuesday alone. That surpassed a record of 36 inches for Feb. 28, set in 1969, spokesperson Scott Gediman confirmed to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The park was initially projected to reopen Thursday. Now it’s a waiting game as Yosemite deals with its first snow-related closure since 2011.

"There is no estimated date for reopening," park officials said on Instagram, adding that crews were "working to restore critical services so visitors can safely return." That includes clearing roads of snow and checking the health of the park’s power grid, among other priorities like food and supplies for staff and visitors.

Too much global warming. I can’t stop laughing about. I bet Greta and her minions are congratulating each other on how they were able to stop global warming.

The climate. It changes before and after. The Moon, which has no climate, has no climate change.

This is what happens when someone prints out a “One Million Carbon Credit Certificate” on their printer.

No. They are telling all they can that this is the sort of thing you get with "climate change" and it is the direct result of putting too much CO2 in the air.

They are doubling down on shutting down industrial society.

How do these people think the aquifers get recharged with water?

Algore and his Greta, his Swedish meatball must really be wringing their hands over this. You can’t have “global warming” both ways. They need to pick one, warm or cold, and let it go at that. Their “climate change” is a natural phenomenon and if they think they can change it, they’re doing way too many drugs.

Not sure about Greta (she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, after all), but Algore has no interest in changing it, he's just interested in the power, control, and most of all, money, he and others can get from it.

It’s beyond funny.

The other day I was in a Patagonia store and the ANTIFA type moron behind the counter was actually spouting “climate change” and “climate crisis” while outside the rain was coming down in buckets (the so-called Atmospheric River!).

Couidn’t stop laughing. It’s bizarre to be in the presence of total unhinged derangement.

This is without a doubt the stupidest generation in American history.

I know the type very well. We were at a nice Christmas party and somehow the conversation turned to Trump and DeSantis. I remarked what great men and great conservative leaders they are and all Holy Hell broke loose. A neighbor couple in their mid 70s HATE both of them. I commented it was refreshing to have an administration under Trump that was free from scandal. That made things much worse. Figuring there is absolutely no reasoning with unhinged, deranged people, I dropped it and we talked about skiing and favorite hot Christmas drinks. At least we can agree on those things.

I used to like Patagonia stuff. Very well made even factoring in its high price. However their nasty rampant leftist company line makes it impossible for me to buy anything they make. They are beyond Woke and into genicide for their opponents.

Have the same feeling.

But it’s hard to find ANY decent winter clothing manufacturer that doesn’t go down the Leftist line.

In the case of Patagonia, I didn’t even dare to tell the poor little ANTIFA twerp that Yvon Chouinard put Patagonia into a trust as a tax dodge. Howard Hughes pioneered that idea with the Hughes Medical Foundation. Made him look good but it was always just a way to avoid taxes.

So I think a lot of their posturing is just marketing to the gullible little saps they sell overpriced China Crap to.

Undoubtedly

Within a year or two Newsom will be back to babbling about “Climate Change! Run for your lives! We’re all gonna DIIIIE!”

It’s a good gig. Gets him elected, keeps Jenny in fur coats and the kids at private schools.

Forget about skiing Mammoth for a while. The road was closed down to the 1000ft elevation as of two days ago.

Regarding Yosemite in winter my story is the opposite of this snow closure. About five years ago we were at my brothers house in the Bay Area. The next day was the Super Bowl (early February) but the weather was extremely mild. We thought why not take advantage of this sudden, unexpected warm Sunday?

We went to Yosemite, had made reservations for that monster Sunday Brunch buffet at the big lodge. There was hardly anyone there. We got there just after nine in the morning, there was no line to get into the park. It was an entire day with the park to ourselves and a few other people. It was amazing.

You know, that’s a really good point!!

When all the rest of the twinkies here are otherwise occupied, a short drive up to the Ahwahnee is in order!
