The heads of a dozen US railroad unions said Wednesday that workers are getting sick at the site of the toxic Ohio train derailment.
The meeting comes after labor leaders claimed that workers at the site of the Norfolk Southern derailment have fallen ill with “migraines and nausea.”
“I have received reports that [Norfolk Southern] neither offered nor provided these workers with appropriate personal protective equipment, such as respirators that are designed to permit safely working around vinyl chloride, eye protection and protective clothing such as chemical retrain suits,” the American Rail System Federation wrote in a letter to Buttigieg obtained by CNBC.
A Norfolk Southern spokesperson told the news outlet that the company “coordinated our response with hazardous material professionals who were on site continuously to ensure the work area was safe to enter and the required PPE was utilized.”

In know, I saw that video live of them walking around the crash site. I did notice the fresh bed of gravel laid down though for where they would be walking.
Overheard one guy tell Pete the trucks had to be decontaminated before hitting the road to haul stuff out there.
Watching a video of some environmental folks pulling samples from a home owner’s stream. Complaining of headaches, dizziness, and chemical burns through the gloves they had on. “I thought these were chemical gloves.” LOL. There are several types of chemical gloves and they probably had the wrong kind. SMH.
One homeowner so far has been offered a buyout on her house as it is too toxic for the family to return. Literally losing everything, it is not like they can go in and even get things like pictures etc.
Not a very convincing list of life threatening symptoms. Sounds like unions using this as an excuse to bash the railroads (but not the feds) .
The real story is lack of listing the chemicals being tested for. This propaganda also leaves out that info. So burning PVC creates dioxins, like Agent Orange. Dioxins are never present in propaganda releases, because then people would ask, “Why aren’t they testing for dioxins?”.

I reiterate that the UNION workers who were onsite without proper PPE were dumbasses.
