Sitting on the aisle a few rows behind his father, the 26-year-old’s left hand rested against the side of his face as each jury member confirmed their verdict, according to live courtroom footage.
As a handcuffed Alex Murdaugh was led from the courtroom, he said a few words to his lawyer, but did not turn to look at Buster, who remained seated.
Alex Murdaugh’s conviction comes after a weekslong trial where he stood accused of fatally shooting his 52-year-old wife Maggie and 22-year-old son Paul.

His only career is probably playing Prince Harry at parties.
Hopefully the son will be ok.
Learn from his father’s example as to what a life of criminality gets you.
At the very least, he should have enough assets to get a good education and then leave the state.
He lost his mother his brother and his father and maybe even the family fortune.
What assets? I thought the father lost everything.
If he did, the kid is screwed.
buster has his own dark past, involving the death of his supposedly gay lover. it is now being looked more closely due to the murder case.
Then we don’t need to worry about him.
A court appointed attorney is currently acquiring and liquidating all his assets to recompense those Alex stole from in his legal practice.
It’s likely the murders were caused trying to prevent discovery of that malfeasance. The wife apparently had a forensic accountant looking into their assets leading to a divorce. The criminal and civil trial discovery against Paul is moot with his murder. Whatever the motive, one or both were a threat to Alex.
This guy is screwed.
As somebody pointed out, he is being investigated for a murder of his own. So, if they find that he did kill somebody, he’s not going to need any money.
What about the property, the house and all?
He got a lump sum when the Moselle property sold. He’ll be ok financially; emotionally...probably not.
jury took only three hours to bring in a guilty verdict ... the same amount of time the Minnow was supposed to tour ...
His brother Paul was a bad seed. He was driving a boat that killed a girl in 2019. His brother who is alive is set for life either from his grandfather or father estate. Even though his father turned out to be a killer, I’m sure he still had enough money for his only living son.
Your forgetting the grandfather who has big bucks!!!!!
No. That’s Paul the dead son. I’m literally watching the documentary on Netflix as we speak. However, I still have more to go so maybe…..lol.
I watched that documentary, too.
That whole family was a piece of work. I’m thinking that Buster is gonna wind up with nothing after all the lawsuits are settled.

Yes, true the whole family has major issues.
But what is the “Buster” is gonna wind up with nothing nonsense?
The man is 26, has a college degree, is physically healthy, etc. Just because your parents don’t leave you any financial inheritances does not mean you end up with nothing.
Most people I know earned everything they got.
It is the way life should be. Get your own money.
Was he the son involved in the death of the housekeeper? The whole family seems to have been sociopathic.
Perhaps Murdaugh’s wife was okay, but on the other hand, she tolerated and protected the behavior of the male members of the family.
But it did come out that she had recently filed for divorce, and possibly this was the thing that made Murdaugh decide to kill her. He was seen in the office listing his assets for the divorce case.
Good points all!
