the historic Edmund Pettus Bridge, named for a reputed Ku Klux Klan leader....

Whoa wait a minute here. The bridge is named for a klansman?
And it hasn’t been torn down? Or renamed for some unknown civil rights hero?

BTW, when I lived in Alabama, I took a side trip to go see the bridge. One side of the bridge looks like Beruit and the other side is prosperous. That was around 1994.
