For years, the Department of Homeland Security has run a virtually unknown program gathering domestic intelligence, one of many revelations in a wide-ranging tranche of internal documents reviewed by POLITICO.
Those documents also reveal that a significant number of employees in DHS’s intelligence office have raised concerns that the work they are doing could be illegal.

Odd, as a conservative and a Christian I absolutely had no doubt DHS was gathering domestic intelligence on the citizens of this country.
How could any sane adult not think that?
You might want to watch (re-watch) the CBS series, Person of Interest. It is just as relevant (maybe MORE relevant) than when it first came out.

Proving once more that all the agencies have too much money and are duplicating efforts because they also don’t have enough to do.
All of this makes a GREAT case for eliminating agencies and whacking the hell out of their budgets.
Just about everything the USA was founded for and made exceptional because of has been overturned and deleted within a few decades.

In 2002, when Bush proposed the Department of Homeland Security, the Democrats screamed that it would turn into a US Secret Police, spying on US citizens for political reasons. Oh the irony.
After Snowden’s revelations (and Clapper/Brennan’s lies) we should assume DHS spies on Americans at all times.

Incarcerated persons are not average citizens, and all bets are there is some aspect of why they are incarcerated that lends itself to “need to know” information that can serve domestic intelligence about organized U.S. and transnational criminal activities.
