2. The Republican Party completely shredded its credibility on all matters related to Federal fiscal policy after 2000 when our national debt nearly doubled during the GWB administration, and when Congress never stopped pissing away trillions of dollars at any time when it was controlled by the GOP.
I agree with you.
I could dig what Trump was doing on a LOT of things, but I never came away with the distinct impression that he was a fiscal conservative during those four years.
We will never stop this out of control spending until we get a balanced budget amendment, and we will never get a balanced budget amendment.
Being a Cav officer near the Iron Curtain had to have its share of challenging situations. I had it made by comparison: my battalion’s mission was air base defense for Hahn, Bitburg, and Spangdahlem air bases. My soldiers spent very little time in the field, and ate them n AF dining facilities.
The only time I had field duty was during Army alerts and evaluations. During AF alerts, I was in the Hahn AB Wing CP for the duration of the alert, usually 4 days.
I was one of just two officers with a TS clearance, the battery commander was the other. I was 23-24 at the time, all nighters were no problem.
I preferred Army evaluations, I was in my element as a Platoon Leader or XO. AF alerts were mostly boring, except when there was an NBC input, when I would be summoned to the “Eagles Nest”, to offer my recommendation on how the Wing Cdr should respond. Why I was called, instead of the Wing Disaster Preparedness Officer, is a story interesting to myself.
