For the Big Sur community in Monterey County, the emergency services office went as far as advising residents and businesses to stock up on essentials that would supply them for at least two weeks. The county has also made sandbags available for residents who need them to protect their property. The Big Sur area, roughly 150 miles south of San Francisco, is one of central California's renowned tourist attractions with picturesque rugged cliffs, mountains and hidden beaches along the Pacific Coast Highway.

Big Sur is absolutely beautiful, but reachable by one highway (ex US 101/now Cal 1) that often gets closed because of landslides.

They should be used to it from all the snow.
They should have enough sense to fend for themselves and not depend on their crappy government this time

“ Some people will stock up on weed and consider themselves covered.”
That’s to keep you from going nuts from cabin fever. It’s an essential according to my state government and *must* be available even during pandemics

Voted for what? You don’t get to vote on weather! We don’t have elections in this country anymore! U.S. Selections are manipulated from data centers all over mainland China!

I’m a graybeard and a Native Son of the Golden West and 101 has always been 101 and 1 has always been 1. CA1 goes along the coast, AKA Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), 101 is somewhat inland and more or less follows the path of the Spanish missionaries. There are spots where 1 and 101 are on the same strip of highway, the Golden Gate bridge and northward is an example.
And the nerd joke is that 101 is binary for 5 which is the north/south interstate.

You might be right, but I remember its being 101/PCH through my hometown, Long Beach, and 101 down to San Diego back in the day, and it’s Cal 1 now.
