My opinion is it will go ‘broke’ waaay sooner than 9 years.....probably 4-5 years....It will be like a bank run, all those eligible who are not yet taking benefits will immediately begin taking benefits and the whole think will collapse.

I’m 65 and began taking benefits at 62. All the financial pinheads say to delay longer than your first eligibility. That makes the very big assumption that the numbers will stay as they now are. But not if the benefits get cut 10 years down the road. At least I will have gotten something out of SS before it goes away.
