Graham accuses DeSantis of 'taking the Chinese position' on Ukraine in calling war a 'territorial dispute'

EXCLUSIVE: Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was "taking the Chinese position" on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine when the potential Republican 2024 contender called the war a "territorial dispute."

During an interview with Fox News Digital on Friday, the South Carolina lawmaker and military veteran was asked whether he was concerned about the current front-runners for the GOP presidential nomination — DeSantis, who is expected to announce a White House bid, and former President Donald Trump, who already has — both having a more skeptical position of the current level of U.S. aid to Ukraine than more establishment members of their party.

"Governor DeSantis, who I respect, is basically taking the Chinese position when it comes to Russia's invasion," Graham said.

Linda Graham and McLame (R.I.P) were truly soulmates... never met a war they didn’t love.

Graham has always been a war pig, He wanted to declare war on the Jan 6th crowd and recommended shooting them all.

Be interesting to watch the money flow to DeSantis. If the Big Donors dry up, then I’ll start to believe that DeSantis is serious. If not, then I’ll have trouble thinking he’s not Bush in drag.

What is Linda’s problem with calling the war in Ukraine a “territorial dispute”? Is it because in Linda’s mind it’s really about cultural coercion, expanding US markets, and global hegemony for The West?

Not a Ron fan but he is mostly correct. If you look at the OOB of both sides it is the size of a territorial dispute. After a year, it looks like the Ukes have fielded 6 or 7 infantry divisions ( 120,000 troops ) and the Russians double that in theatre. That OOB does not equate to a total warfare event.

Funny how Graham has never ever been this filled with bloodlust for securing our own border.

I really believe Graham has got a screw loose. How this guy keeps getting reelected is just a mystery to me.

RdS has been pretty mealy mouthed about it, I’ll grant you that. Yes, his donor base is cleaning up on this. Supporting the massive funding of the quagmire is quickly becoming an untenable position with the GOP base and independents. We’ve been blundered in deep enough that RdS’ donors will continue doing very well even if peace is negotiated. We now have a new Cold War arms race. Just reloading and replacing the equipment wasted on this corruption will keep them rolling in profits for years.

As the Trump and RdS positions coalesce around no more funding, Graham apparently plans to be the Uniparty (R) alternative to MAGA and MAGA lite.

Big Ron fan and he is ABSOLUTELY correct.

DoD knows it. Linda knows it.

DeSantis is well versed from his experience in uniform - IN A SOCOM ENVIRONMENT ( unlike Linda’s pretend to be a military man SC Air National Guard experience) to realize Russia can’t even fight their way to a clear victory in the Ukraine burning up precious logistics in the process.

What makes anyone think Russia can project beyond that even with a slow grind victory in the Ukraine? ( which is an obvious eventuality short of NATO and this tool bag POTUS putting troops on the ground)

Really? Lady Graham…

I’m not surprised. I literally was watching John Bolton—the Walrus—on a 60 min type Sunday morning show when he said he wished they would have executed all the soldiers who fought for the south. He said that, 750,000 men would have been killed.

Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot would be proud of work like that.

If the Ukes were serious their army would be 3 or 4 times the size that it is now. The Ukes have had a year to mobilize.

To compare with the past, in 1863 the CSA had an army of around a million vs a population of 9 million. A ratio of around 1:8. Ukraine has a population of 36 million so a proportional army would be 4 million and not the reported 200,000 they have now.

This "war" is a joke.

They can defend Crimea and the four oblasts. Ukraine’s NATO de factor status is a reality. Ukraine, Poland and massive NATO resources already deployed there check any further conventional attacks. The line that this is only the first of Putin’s revanchist Soviet aggressions has been shown to be a total joke. We are at a stalemate and there is no room to further escalate this. Put a negotiated seal on the reality of the situation. De escalate and hope Trump can walk us back from this CF quagmire as well.

In my opinion,Graham is just sore Because DeSantis won’t date him. In my opinion,Graham needs to stick to Interstate 26 rest stops. But he is the Pride of South Carolina. The people there worship him.
