Yeah, there are a lot of kids that react by putting up a “sound screen” of yelling because they can’t consider the other side. And this happens only on the left.
The reason is that the right is continually bombarded by leftist ideals so there’s no sensitivity to it. The left is never confronted with cogent right wing beliefs, only misrepresentations that the left use to mock the right. When they hear the real thing, they freak out.
We could get a huge government grant and study that problem. How is your statistical data analytics skills? Do you have a masters in computer science? I have a BS degree in BS, myself.

Of course there is depression and anxiety among the youth. They are being taught all kinds of ridiculous scare mongering ideologies. They have to walk on eggshells for fear of getting publicly shamed for a “microagression” like using the wrong pronoun. They are being raised in a world they are told will be uninhabitable in 9.1 years. They carry Narcan in case one of their friends takes a fentanyl pill. Heaven knows what other nonsense they are taught - but all of this is enough to make anyone who isn’t well grounded in beliefs to become depressed and anxious.
