He learned that the treason in Washington was far deeper than he even realized.

Yah, P** off.

It wasn’t an insurrection, yah TWOT. On the side of the bldg organized for photo-ops by Pelosi’s kid it was Feds inciting a riot. On the other side it was a tourist walk thru by Capital police.

All a setup to scare Pence into shying away from doing his job as Veep and rejecting all of the illegal Electors from the swing states.

Just because she was in the WH, that does not mean Trump personally hired her or even approved of her. That is mostly done by others. He probably knew of her after she was hired but has little to do with the hiring. And for all of you who attack him for his personnel choices, yes he made some doozies (Barr, Mattis, Gen Kelly etc), remember, Trump was not a politician (like Desantis, Clinton, Bush, Obama) and didn’t have an indepth team that had been with him like those others did and do. So, he had to rely on others for recommendations and those people were mostly in it for themselves and did him no favors with their recommendations — and that includes many in Congress (Ryan, McConnell etc). So yea, we can fault him for some bad choices but many were the result of trusting those who were two faced with their agenda.

Don't disturb Reno89519 with facts, he was on a roll with his latest Anti-Trump, NeverTrump comment.

Another moron who thinks she knows how President Trump should act. There’s plenty of them here on FR too.

If Trump would’ve listened to the ‘political experts’ of Free Republic, he would’ve never became the 45th President of the United States.

Damn right!! I voted for Trump both times, and will vote for him again, simply because he's a fighter, defends himself and us, speaks the truth, and doesn't mince his words. Anybody who finds that offensive should go crawl back into the hole they crawled out of.

Could I have done better? No. Certainly not. But I’m not angling to be POTUS. Trump should have done some research on how Washington works. He should have started doing that research long before he decided to run. Either he didn’t do the research, or he didn’t care what the research showed.

You are attempting to compare 1981 with 2017.   They were worlds apart.   Obama weaponized our government institutions and the number of Leftist NGOs are through the roof now.   Universities indoctrinate all with leftist ideology.   1980 those institutions were merely experiencing the first steps of Marxist infiltration.

I do feel that the greatest factor in President Trump's poor hirings was Mitch McConnell putting the kibosh on every reliable individual that he was attempting to appoint.   That, and Vice President Pence's machinations behind the President's back.

Duplicity is difficult research.

During the Reagan era, one side was not openly communist, and both sides knew which restroom they were supposed to use and didn’t find it controversial. Trump had battles facing him that Reagan never dreamed of. The Democrats speaker tip O’Neill was no good, but he would go over after hours and have a beer with Reagan. Reagan never faced anything remotely like what Trump did.

People and corporations did not face open terrorism attacks and restaurants, and big tech organized boycotts for merely associating with Reagan.

The founding fathers vision was very realistic. That is if you’re talking about operating a government that is perfectly in line with the people it supposedly governs. But accomplished individuals and society deciding to serve their country for a couple of years in public service doesn’t work when the government is fully aligned against the American people, and advancing foreign, and alien thinking and interests. And when that same government has promulgated a body of law so complex and overreaching and overarching that someone cannot simply step in and function for a couple of years. The founding fathers had it right, but our government has trade. It’s not because society is more complicated, it’s because the government his departed from everything intended, moral, and decent.

What’s happened is that the good people, who have alternatives in the private sector, simply don’t want to get involved.

That leaves us with the folks, who can’t do anything, except work in government.

Don’t forget. For the first time in history Mitch McConnell as speaker refused to go into recess for the entire term to prevent the president from his own party from being able to make any recess appointments. He never even did that to Obama.

And not only do they not want to get involved, anyone who was going to get involved with Trump had to deal with street terrorism, stalking, and boycotts that would ensure they could never work in their chosen field again, or except employment at a company. I remember a woman who lost her job at a mortgage company because her son was in the Trump administration. Bottom line, our government has been overthrown and is now enthralled with consolidating power, and waging war against the American people. It’s pointless to compare this to any other time in American history.

The lesson that must be learned is the power of tyranny to stop patriots from expressing their outrage. You go Sarah.

OK, but even if you're right and everything you say is true, I'm not seeing how hiring a bunch of people who stab you in the back is going to help you to be President.

He has certainly learned who his hidden enemies were and are...

Maybe, since he seems to be toooooooo dang trustworthy, he needs to inject a kill switch into all his friends, employees, and casual acquaintances...

There’s really nothing to learn other than the Justice
Department and the FBI have colluded to deny a lot of
people their Constitutional rights, in ways that should
see some decent numbers of our criminal justice system
spend time in prison.

I think the problem is the entire pool of applicants are corrupt. There doesn't seem to be an honest individual among people involved in any way with government.

Pigs at the trough.

ALL BASTARDS of the first magnitude!
