Historically, the attacker usually suffers 3x the casualties of the defender. The attacker needs to expose himself as he advances towards the enemy. The defender, on the other hand, can stay protected in his trenches and bunkers. This is Military Science 101.
In this battle the attacker hasn’t made huge or sudden advances, but has moved slowly with artillery and maneuver, encircling and and pounding the crap out of the “ defenders” while minimizing their own losses up to the point where final building-by-building urban combat has developed, with Wagner taking the brunt of it
