former public servants should not have SS protections

In the first place, SS has been protecting ex US Presidents since 1913. Suppose somebody like Rand Paul was ex POTUS and couldn't afford that level of protection?

Also, the DOJ (including the FBI) is now more like Hitler's Sondergerichte than an independent department, and the presence of the SS discourages Bragg style abuses like Trump ending up like Epstein. I could say that SS should not be in the DOJ, but leftists are encroaching on all areas of fedgov.

However, it would be nice to make it a campaign violation for Cori Bush to defund police and then use campaign money to pay for security.
