Sort of like Archie Bunker telling a black character “I always thought you was one of the good ones.” A common catchphrase I remember hearing as a boy in the 50s about Sidney Poitier, Bill Cosby or Harry Belafonte from my neighbors.

"Uncle Remus, who said to Uncle Ben, 'You're a credit to your Rice!'......Never got a dinner!" - Red Buttons

Ha.

Bad news is actually remember Red Buttons.

Dennis Prager just had to correct a caller last week for saying Red Skeleton instead of Red Skelton. Which I also knew.

A few years ago a woman told me her young niece and nephew came in crying to their mother saying “the people on the TV are all turning black and gray. Make it go back again.”
Their first experience of a black and white movie classic coming on.
