Syria accuses Israel of airstrikes in Damascus for second night in a row

The Israeli Air Force carried out airstrikes in the Syrian capital Damascus shortly after midnight on Friday, for the second night in a row, according to Syria’s state-run media outlet.

The state news agency SANA reported that Syria’s air defenses intercepted the “hostile missiles” over the capital, though the “aggression” managed to cause some material damage. Damascus regularly claims to successfully intercept IDF strikes, but military analysts doubt these assertions.

There were no immediate reports of injuries in the strike.

What’s going on? Why is Israel attacking Syria this time?

Where are the uses of “allegedly” you find in nearly any other story?

Israel is just another US proxy following orders to promote peace and prosperity.

For the most part Israeli strikes are to intercept arms and other capabilities being shipped by Iran to their proxy fighters in Lebanon. Other strikes have been to preempt direct attacks from Syrian territory on Israel. If the Syrian government was inclined to stop direct attacks they probably couldn’t. Even if they could Syria relies on foreign fighters to help prop up the Syrian regime so they won’t stop those same fighters from attacking Israel for fear of what those fighters might do to Syria.

Israeli intelligence has been very good. I’m guessing that no phone call or text or email inside Syria goes unread in Israel.

Also, the least expensive way for Israel to attack is not missiles. It is glide bombs which can be launched outside any existing protective envelope and will hit the target with great precision. They usually have a very small yield so as to limit collateral damage as the potential targets are located next to civilians so the other side can call foul and stir up a tempest in the press.

I am pretty sure that if there are any real politicians in the Democratic party they tried to stop this DA from behind the scenes. But rabid dogs are hard to control.

Well said. Israel, isn’t just indiscriminately attacking for no reason- they are doing so to stop the armament of the terrorists who are attacking them constantly. The articles never mention the fact that for every attack agasint foreign enemies that Israel does, the enemies have rained down barrage of attacks for months on Israel, but the world seems not to care about that fact, they only hylerventilate when israel defends itself, claiming that isrzel is initiating unprovoked human rights violations.

You’ll notice Israel never attacks ISIS or any of the jihadi rebel groups.

That says it all.
