Ukrainian units began to widely use on the line of contact outdated KS-19 100 mm anti-aircraft guns, developed in 1947 and intended to fight air targets.
In all likelihood, the Ukrainian army has serious problems not only with ammunition for Western-style artillery systems, but also with firearms. Nothing more than this can explain the use of outdated anti-aircraft guns.
In addition, as noted by military experts, entire artillery batteries from KS-19 guns are being formed in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They plan to use them exclusively to destroy ground targets, since there are simply no air targets that KS-19 guns can fight in the Russian army.

Zelensky’s Army spotted using anti-aircraft guns made in 1947 against Russia
“Amid a weapons crises as Russia mounts offensive, Ukraine has started using anti-aircraft guns made in 1947. Ukraine is reportedly using the KS-19 guns for ground targets, designed for air targets. Russia on the other hand, had used these guns as a decoy in Ukraine.”

A Year Into War, Ukraine Faces Challenges Mobilizing Troops
3/23/23
“When Russia invaded in February last year, thousands of volunteers lined up outside military recruitment centers. *With many of them now dead or injured,* Ukrainian authorities are scrambling to recruit replacements, *often drafting those who have neither the desire nor the training to serve.* The result is a growing number of fighting-age men *who are attempting to evade service.* ... videos appearing to show men *being roughed up by enlistment officers* for refusing a summons. A disabled person *was drafted in western Ukraine and pronounced fit for service despite having no hands.* Another died on the front lines *within a month of mobilization after 10 days of training,* according to his relatives. ...”

3/4 Germany snubs Ukraine on arms aid; Says, ‘Can’t give everything…’
4/1/23
German defence minister Boris Pistorius has said that the NATO Nation won’t send anymore military aid to Ukraine apart from the promised packages. ... [Video at link]
It’s obvious that Boris, as well as the German newspapera Welt Am Sonntag and Reuters, who both reported on this, are pro-Putin.
4/4a Zelensky’s latest admission: In an interview with Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun he declared that “We do not have ammunition. For us the situation in the East is not good.”
Zelensky’s admission adds credence to what the Washington Post recently reported regarding how poorly Kiev’s forces are faring in this conflict, especially its “severe ammunition shortages” that one of its sources spoke about.
4/4b Ukrainian Lieutenant Colonel Andrey Marochko:
Kyiv’s forces are losing at least 500 fighters in the area of Bakhmut on a daily basis
Perhaps they could utilize their KS-19s against Russia’s T-55s.
LOL
They send available high explosives down range. Not the first choice but they are on hand. Simple as that.
Isn’t that supposed to be against the Geneva Convention?
That’s one of the few things they could match up against as they suck, everyone is abandoning them, Repubs that formerly signaled support for Ukraine are no longer doing this, they know it isn’t good to help Zelensky as doing so means you then support what the Obama state department fomented, and you then also support Vindman, Pelosi, Nuland, etc, who are tied at the hip with Zel.
So the only truly conservative position is to put NATO troops around Ukraine and Putin will go no further, no longer carry Europe’s water for them, do not pay for the Ukrainian pensions with American pensions as Biden has admitted to doing, and if you don’t agree then you’re pro-Biden.
The Germans used a flak gun against tanks. It performed well.
They are also using 100-year-old Maxim machine guns. The reason is they have a water tank around the barrel, and they are belt fed. So, they can be continuously fired as long as there is cooling water in the tank, unlike modern machine guns where you can’t fire continuously without melting the barrel. Also, a 100mm gun will penetrate just about anything. If they already have the ammo and the gun, it is likely better for the purpose than anything else they are using. They are also using antiquated truck mounted dual barrel anti-aircraft guns from the fifties and sixties because those are great against drones. It might be hard to get tubes for the radar.
The weapons we have today are designed to fight the type of war we expect, which is one of rapid movement and not static trench warfare.
Ya it can take out a T-55 if they have the right ammunition.
The ammunition of of the fixed type, and to a large extent interchangeable with that of other 100 mm rifled tank and field guns.[3] Anti Aircraft ammunition includes high explosive, high explosive fragmentation and fragmentation types. The two kinds of armor piecing rounds were the AP-T (Armor Piercing-Tracer) and APC-T (Armor Piercing Capped-Tracer) with the AP-T round reportedly able to penetrate 185 mm of armor at 1000 m.[2]

I was looking at the armor on the T-55. and Well, well it uses a 100mm gun also. So looks like they can use captured Russian ammo.
1. This is editorializing.
2. The Vietnamese shot down 20th Century U.S. helicopters with 10th Century crossbows.
Just because it's outdated doesn't mean it can't be combat-effective.
The Germans did pretty well with 88’s in WWII.
it’s over.
100 billion just doesn’t go as far as it used to
Pure propaganda. The US uses the M2A2 50 Cal better known as the Ma Duce. It has been in service since 1933. Doesn’t matter the age but how effective it is.
Ukraine is not going to win this war either. NATO is sending its war stockage to Ukraine so we will be vulnerable when this thing comes crashing down. Sweater Man will flee with hoards of cash through grifting. Russia will have the upper hand on the world.
And Wagner uses only 2023 model shovels.
