What I’m thinking.
No, Russia is far more corrupt than Ukraine and is slipping even worse in recent ratings while Ukraine is improving.
Every time I see an article about Putin’s wealth I’m reminded of the photo of Mussolini and his woman hanging from a light post.

I have often said that I believe Putin is a crook. I will also go on record and say that this war would have likely occurred with or without Putin.
We have the “Monroe Doctrine”. We PROMISED Russia that we would NOT encroach upon their territory when they dissolved the USSR. Those who “represent” us could simply not help themselves.
This war was pointless. How does Ukraine, a nation that is more corrupt than even Russia (and thats saying something), joining NATO make our kids and the alliance safer?
It does not. The very people pushing this (Western elites and diplomats/Generals) are the same entities that made the pledges upon the dissolution of the USSR. Ivy-league morons caused this war.
It is past time that America curtails these people running around pushing all of this crap for their own interests and the interests of their patrons - it has nothing to do with me or you.
Every time a nation joins NATO they up their defense spending and its all on the border of Russia now. This is dangerously stupid.

The Russians as well as the senior diplomats of the time all confirmed that there was a verbal agreement. They were told that NATO had no interest in moving eastward and at that time our diplomats and senior NATO officials dismissed the idea - treaty or no treaty.
I used to think the idea that NATO would seek conflict with the Russian Federation as ridiculous, but now I am not so sure. We pushed east. Yes, there is certainly more to the story with bad faith on both sides (of the Ukraine) but here we are. The map looks much different than when I was a young man in Europe when all of this happened.
You are trusting the same people who have lied for years and years. Safe and effective. We did not blow up the pipeline. Etc, etc.
We can’t put the egg back in the shell but mark my words - the people running our foreign policy are dangerous. They are dangerous to your children and mine and they do NOT promote our interests or the interests of the people of the Ukraine.
The whole thing is a swamp of corruption and we are waist deep in the bloody mud too. Its a damned tragedy and in direct contravention of the NATO purpose it has done nothing to make anyone safer. It’s just making us poorer and NATO is really good at that.
