It seems like no one really understands that all Bragg has to do is a get a jury who is as stupid as the grand jury and Trump could very well get convicted and end up in prison. Ridiculous, you say? What did you say about the possibility he would get indicted? Or impeached? Or lose the election? This is how the left really thinks.

“We’re after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you’d better get wise to it. There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them...you create a nation of lawbreakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Rearden.” (2.2.3.39)

With an anti-Trump judge hearing the case, the chance that the indictment will be thrown out seems slim. So next January there is a trial with 12 rabidly anti-Trump Manhattanites finding Trump guilty. Actually sending him to prison while he appeals would probably be a step too far, but then the media can constantly harp on the theme that Trump is a convicted felon during the 2024 campaign.

The indictment makes it more likely Trump will be the nominee, but less likely that he will win the election. Of course the election fraud issues from 2020 haven't been addressed so he would need large margins of victory to overcome the fraud.

What about a trial where the prosecution says, “Maybe what he did caused the death, or maybe it was from something else,” and the defendant is still convicted of first degree murder despite the allegations not even adding up to that charge. We’ve seen that recently.
