What they don’t mention is that few turned in their gold. Basically its primary effect was to stop retail from buying or selling it temporarily. I’m going with silver this time. It’s upside looks even more promising than gold. Let them try and call in silver lol. If it ever got to that point you’d probably be better off leaving the country altogether.

Apart from transaction paid in cash at a local coin shop, most gold is purchased online. I guarantee that Fedzilla has, or could easily confiscate, all the gold transactions of the past x number of years. Unlike the 1930's Fedzilla like knows, or can certainly mandate records of gold purchases.
This isn't the 1930's. Broadly speaking, they will know who owns whatever precious metals. It will be difficult to hide purchase transactions. And once they get digital currency it will be game over. The Feds will know EVERYTHING.
