Ukraine may be ready to negotiate Crimea once its forces launch a counter-offensive and reach the border of the Russian-occupied peninsula, an adviser to Volodymyr Zelensky said.
Andriy Sybiha, deputy head of the president’s office, said Kyiv could soon be “ready” to enter talks, in an interview with the Financial Times published Thursday.
“If we will succeed in achieving our strategic goals on the battlefield and when we will be on the administrative border with Crimea, we are ready to open [a] diplomatic page to discuss this issue,” Sybiha said, referencing Kyiv’s highly anticipated counterattack to regain territory in the east and south.
He added: “It doesn’t mean that we exclude the way of liberation [of Crimea] by our army.”

Counting their Chechens?
First Ukraine must learn the pain of rooting out an entrenched enemy.
Then we’ll see how ready to talk they are. And we’ll see whats on the table.

Either your looking for a peaceful settlement or you are not. Saying your waiting to see how your offensive goes isn’t looking for a peaceful settlement. Frankly, it sounds like a ploy to get the Russians to redistribute forces to Crimea, for an attack somewhere else.
The fact that it’s an aide means it is a trial balloon intended to gauge response. Some of the reasons Russia launched the war is they couldn’t supply Crimea via the bridge and the Ukrainians had cut off Crimea’s water supply meaning it was no longer self-sustaining as far as food went. It’s basically a desert without the canal. The cost of importing food and water had become unstainable. From that aspect alone Ukraine should have expected the war.
If we will succeed in achieving our strategic goals on the battlefield …

Big, big IF. The inevitable is occurring, the cries for taking back the Crimea have disappeared….now it’s you can have Crimea if,….Blah, Blah, Blah.
Fact is Vlad is keeping the ethnic Russian provinces, and there is nothing the collective West can do.
The Ukies are toast, they should have never pulled out of the March Peace negotiations. They are paying a terrible price for “ Defiance”….
Should western weapons allow the Ukes to threaten Russia I don’t know what would stop them from turning Kiev into radio active goo. I just hope they stop there and not at London or Berlin.
As it is I wonder how long before Russia arms some of our enemies and sends them across our southern border.
Read between the lines. This is Ukraine throwing back in Russia’s face their own tough talk and posturing. Its part of the political manuvering and build up to any Ukranian offensives that may or may not happen this year.
At this juncture if Zelensky is willing to negotiate anything it’s a stall.....that’s how he works. Do we see another Zelensky Tour to garner ammo and military equipment because he’s lacking for any Spring offensive??????
I’m sorry but what jackasses you are. You do nothing but scream Ukraine must make peace, then when they talk peace you still bitch.
I hope the Russian army is further humiliated.
Zelensky and his cronies are the new world oligarchs on our dollars!
Nor is invading another country and leveling their cities an indication that one is looking for a peaceful settlement.

Ukraine walked out of Peace talks in March- Kirby last weak rejected China’s Peace talks….stay informed and stop supporting the collective West’s calls for war, war, war.
Said daily about Ukraine every since the war started. The cost of war in lives, property loss, and economics is a two way street. Russia's economy is hurting badly. We do not know because Russia stopped reporting economic indicators and no one is trading in Rubles anymore. Automobile production has all but stopped, and their Siberian oil industry is going to run into problems in getting rid of their wet crude oil.
Offering Russia a way out helps Russia as well as Ukraine, because before long, Russia is going to show how much their economy really is hurting.
