...inching closer to “shall not be infringed”
Open carry is legal in NC.
The concealed carry will pass soon.
Nice! I have a permit for other reasons, but nice!
Owning a car is not a Constitutionally guaranteed right. That’s the difference.
Ouch. You hurt. I know it sucks hard living in your, at best moderate state. Instead of crying about the great state of Florida’s success. Why not try to turn your state around. It sure needs it.
Where are the commies crying about this?
Anyone know what this means for the mandatory wait time for firearm purchase? One of the “perks” for having the license was no wait time on a purchase.
Will this new law apply to out of state residents like we have here in New Hampshire?
I was planning on beginning the process to get a Florida Non-Resident license this year.
I get it and agree. Because its constitutional all people should be allowed to own. Just saying there needs to be something that helps with education and responsibility.
I understand and sympathize with your comment, but there are differences that you’re probably already aware of. Keeping and bearing arms is a right for anyone who isn’t likely to use that right to violate the rights of others (someone high on a drug, a felon, adjudicated to be insane, etc.). Driving is a privilege.
Very few people will ever present a weapon for defense. We do need more firing ranges and instruction available to the public, though.
One way to look at it is this. Is your state a constitutional carry state? And if so, for how long? Also if so, how is it working out so far in public places in your area? Generally nice and quiet? There are probably quite a few people carrying where not legally prohibited—more than most people realize. Thirty years ago, I would’ve been surprised to see the lack of violence around us now with the newer laws.
I agree one should know what they’re doing with a firearm but not to the point where any mandated training is required. Give libs an inch and they’ll take a mile on this.
Agree. Every gang member probably has a record and is a felon. They don’t care what laws are passed. And may not even have a license.
That is the interesting side effect that probably sends libs reeling. By introducing conceal carry and ADDING guns to an environment (not removing), overall crime went down in those states. Simple reason, criminals commit crimes where it is easy to get away with it. Who is going to mug people in a states where a good portion are carrying?
Do you feel people should have a journalism degree before they write a news article? Would a bachelor's degree be sufficient or should they have a master's? Should people have a Toastmaster's membership before they engage in public speaking, or maybe a BA in Rhetoric?
Many thanks for the post!
We need that map with the states shaded green, blue, yellow, etc...
